Hi guys.

So I've been wondering if there's a way to uninstall updates for a game? I know that tinfoil let's you install updates and DLC in .NSP format, but is there a way to uninstall it to get back to a previous version of that game?

For example, Sonic Mania Plus is an Update and a DLC (I think?) if I wanted to revert to just sonic mania can I do that? I don't think it's a easy ad delete from data management and install just the Mania NSP is it? As tickets and certs will still exist in the console that way surely.

Same for Smash Bros ultimate which is on V2.0.0, anyway to revert back?

Way back on the Wii I'm sure that WAD file installation was reversable tickets and all.

I don't necessarily NEED to do this but I have a YouTube channel dedicated to Glitching and its often the case that the first release of a game has the most glitches ahaha!

Thanks to anyone that can clear this up

Devmenu used to do it on version 5 but has no official version 6 support.
Some claimed to make it work on 6 though so you might want to check that out.

There was never an offical devmenu to begin with. And 6.0.0 one is out for about 3 months now (idk when 6.0.0 was released)

You can delete it from data management and reinstall the version you need.

But that would delete the whole game along with the update.
And if you don't have another update it will require you to install it before you play.
Only devmenu has the ability to delete "only" the update and reset/cancel the requirement for it.

Quick side question. Lets say I updated A game since the jump and i'm like 10 updates deep. Could I delete any previous updates or are they deleted as new ones are added?

As far as I know Goldleaf only deletes update. It does not edit system save with update version requirement.
I guess you're right
I've tried once to remove an update using goldleaf (delete ticket and title) and when I press "+" sign on the home menu, it still show the new update version. don't know what'll happen if I try to run it because I immediately reinstall the update back then

So is Dev menu the only way we know?

Actually, just found this info from another part of GBATemp that I'm about to try!

Damn guys. So many posts for a simple thing. DevMenu 6.2 is super hard to find and no one can help you with that here since it's part of the Nintendo SDK and not redistributable.

Instead, use Blawr's version of TinFoil and just delete the Application Record for the update and the game. Boom, required version reset. Save data will be unaffected (this may cause issues if the save data for the latest update is not compatible with the version you wish to play).

Oh for christ sake. I can't get that verion of Tinfoil to load, I get kicked off straight away with an error code. Urghh. I really would like to be able to delete the damn update for Ultimate right now hahaha
