I made transparent Virtual Console Wii U-style icon templates in case anyone wants an authentic VC experience on the Switch.

Right: GBA template

How to use: Download the template PNG you want. Then open it in an image editor such as Paint.NET or Photoshop, then add a new transparent layer on bottom of the main background layer containing the template, then take the game title screen and resize it to fill up the empty space. Then save it as JPG.

I've used the logos in the loading screen when the app opens, but this looks awesome too!View attachment 158242 View attachment 158243
I started making some icons with console logos in the corner. Not sure if I should do that with all of them. The idea was to use that so that you can tell which console version you're loading up, in the case of where a game might have multiple ports.
You people are really doing it. Thanks!
So, does this method is ike title replacement? It works with the latest nightlies?
I tried that when I made for example:I've used the logos in the loading screen when the app opens, but this looks awesome too!
Yea its very subtle, do you have retroatch setup to load the bios before the game?I tried that when I made for example:

But I feel like it looks too small on the loading screen. It would've been nice if we could use a larger image somehow, but it doesn't work.
Didn't think to use the BIOS. I will now. Thanks.Yea its very subtle, do you have retroatch setup to load the bios before the game?
Its pretty nice when loading up GBA or PSX games.
Welcome! The GBA "bing" and the PSX sound are ingrained in my head hahah.Didn't think to use the BIOS. I will now. Thanks.
Its perfect! Specially since it has ice instead of fire, a lot more accurate lol.View attachment 158310 View attachment 158311 View attachment 158312
Without logos, for Broduskii.
I like how the Chrono Trigger one came out. Had to make it myself in photoshop.
I edited yours and it seems that with this one your problem is fixed.Thank you but same result, seems like the switch is recompressing the image somehow
To change the "virtual console" tex !Do you need a PSD? You can just use the PNG there.
