considering the switch version has the 2D mode, I think it's safe to assume that version will have the rest of the 3ds exclusive content, so the best course of action may be to buy that version rather than wait to see if some offshoot chance someone releases the ps4 translation for 3ds in secret especially in case they decide it isn't worth it for the switch version having the mentioned content.
personally if I were them I'd make my own translation rather than inject the copywritten ps4 translation, but what do I know.
That requires buying a Switch, and playing on a giant tablet that doesn't fit well in your pocket
considering the 3ds is dead though and you can take the joy cons off to fit in your pocket, I don't see your point.
I've circled my point in red for you. In addition, the fact that every game is $60 instead of the already overpriced $40 on the 3DS, and the lack of online services on the console (paid online doesn't count).

I find it strange.
I mean, there's a Russian fandom of Tales games, and they just ported Official Russian translation of Tales of Zestiria from PS4/PC version to the PS3 version that has no official Russian version. Of course, they had to edit it a little, because PS3 version has some stuffs cut. But in the end, translation is the same as the official one.
I cannot understand why you westerners are afraid to do what we, Russians, did and nobody complained.

Because it's illegal? Because SQEX has a reputation for complaining very strictly?
And it's illegal because if you give someone a patch for the PS3 version, you're distributing a pirated copy of the PS4 version, even if not in it's entirety.

It shouldn't be more illegal than an undub where you 'illegally' insert an official text (or voices) from another copy of a game. And look, there're tons of undubs done and shared here.
don't be a dick, some people prefer to play a 3ds and not fork over cash for a new system learn some manners and not insult people.
I'm just stating the fact and why would you waste your time translating or using the steam translation when it will be release on the switch this year with some 3ds stuff in it?

The only 3ds stuff they announced for the switch version was the 2D mode. Besides the 3DS version is another different way to experience the game nothing wrong with that dunno why ur trying to discourage people from this version

That maybe so but, you cant possibly think that others share the same views as you? Sure gamers are sucking the switches dick like a two bit whore on prom night. But some people (myself included prefer the 3ds) and think that having a english version of the 3ds version would be great. Take the great ace attorney game for example, that took ages but was completed what's there to stop a translation of dragon quest 11 from happening regardless of what methods are used to achieve it? I understand your entitled to your opinion but try wording it in a way that wont upset somebody.
Well Great Ace Attorney hasn't announce its western release and also it can get C&D (probably not cuz 3ds is dead). By the time this project has finish ( or got abandoned) you already played it on the other consoles.
Kind of ironic since you're posting in the "3DS - ROM Hacking, Translations and Utilities" board, where people frequently provide and seek modifications & translations of 3DS games. Yes, they could purchase a Switch, or, and hear me out, they can just be content with the device they already own and seek support for the device in their appropriate board.
