The keys are nintendo proprietary code though, which I'm pretty damn sure is copyrighted

It's not, because the keys are too trivial for copyright.

and before you counter with you can't copyright a a string of letters and numbers you can copyright the order they are in.

A random number that takes a fraction of a second to generate is not copyrightable. There have been DMCA anti circumvention cases thrown out because they were just allowing interoperability, but if the keys themselves were copyrightable then they would have succeeded on that. But they didn't. So it's pretty clear that keys can't be copyrightable, google "illegal numbers" and you'll find some examples.

Which again, isn't in Atmosphere, so they cna't do anything about it. The only thing Atmosphere does is violate the terms of use

It's involved in DMCA violations. If Nintendo wanted to get nasty they could involve Atmosphere in a conspiracy charge with TX and possibly also gbatemp for hosting/linking to the patches and installers which allow NSP to be installed.

I can't be assed debating the legality of something online, so lets just agree to disagree on this matter.

Do you know why we are waiting on cfw for 7.0? Because they changed how the keys were hidden in tsec (something we can't access) But what scires is doing, instead of releasing the keys, is making a way to boot cfw without keys by generating them in the CFW, but doing that would burn the exploit, so he is hiding it, so it doesn't get burnt. That's why the secrecy as such so we don't get 8.0 in 2 weeks time

.....I knew it. My point was "why so scared to burn this exploit?" I'm sure they have another one and the proof is they cracked 7.0 in less time than 6.2 so they were already working on it. If they had no more useful exploits I think they would have said it.
The other point was that "nothing is uncrackable", CFWs as well.

Because if this gets burnt it will take longer next time. 7.0 fixed smmu which is the last one used

Atmosphere will likely get 7.0.0 within the next 14 days, and SX will likely get it 1-2 weeks after atmos does

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

When fusee gelee came out it was already known that Ninty could patch it with a hardware revision, also ipatched systems do still have exploits (ex. Dormez vous, and all the exploits in 4.x).

Also SciresM has already found a way to hack 7.0.0... 2 weeks ago
If ipatch can be xploited, why nobody do it yet? And why need to be on lower firmware? I guess Nintendo is getting very good at this

They are saving the exploit to see if it will work on the next hardware revision that's coming out soon. So they can be hacked out of the box and not have it patched out as Nintendo would do now if they know about it

No guess. We dont know how long. Be patient and wait. Wow, Some people are so restless about it. I don't. I am happy with 6.2 jailbreak. I can't wait for newer games for 7.0.0 but be patient because I am patient too. Again. No idea. And I dont want to guess. No idea. SMH.

How about the number gets released, but in a different order lol?

"The right numbers are here, but the order is up to you to figure out."
With all of the possible combinations, it would be nearly impossible for someone to figure out the order without some sort of decryption key, and then it becomes illegal again.

People need to be patient. As far as game compatibility is concerned, I don't believe there's any reason to be on 7.0.0 yet.

People should also understand that Nintendo/NVIDIA have actually managed to bootstrap an almost secure boot. With a future system update that patches certain exploits and hinders developers' abilities to derive TSEC keys, we might lose CFW for a very long stretch of time, if not forever.

Atmosphere definitely violates DMCA by breaking encryption. Nintendo could go after them through that if they wanted. Keys violating copyright is questionable at best. Doesn't seem like anyone's tried to take a key release case to court for copyright. DMCA seems to be what everyone decides a key release violates.

Occasionally you'll see things like a "flag" made where the hex representation of each color represents the 3 bytes of the key

Just one thing, i don't know in other country but in france it s this law.
You can do test yourself you will see.

Cartdridge game require update for work.
Ex : You are in 7.0 you want to play with this cartridge ( i test all of them ), work in 6.2 too.

Zelda
Mario odyssey
Mario Kart
1-2 Switch

The console don't launch the game, and ask you internet for download the update.
You can''t play the game you buy without internet connection.

In my case i got 2 switch, one is banned, one is not and it s XAJ4006 series.

Switch banned can't play the game without internet connection.
The other switch can.

In the cover of the box, it s write anywhere, Internet connection requires for play the game.

So european law ( french for sure say that )

If you can't play or else, with software you buy.
You can without permission of the author use his own code for use it.

French Article of the law :

’article L22-6-1 du code de propriété intellectuelle I. Les actes prévus aux 1° et 2° de l'article L. 122-6 ne sont pas soumis à l'autorisation de l'auteur lorsqu'ils sont nécessaires pour permettre l'utilisation du logiciel, conformément à sa destination, par la personne ayant le droit de l'utiliser, y compris pour corriger des erreurs

Except it has been exploited, and most of the needed exploits for it are public (only one is being kept private due to it not being patched or leaked yet) and they’re fully hackable up to 6.0.1. They’re only hackable upto a certain firmware for the same reason most other platforms are only hackable upto a certain firmware for awhile.

W o a h

lek plx XD
You can derive the 3 other ones that I have with the 3 you already have :P
