It is enough for me to work with :)
I just wanted to know what i get myself into before putting in hours of work.

Oh, one last question, do we format the review ourselves, or does an editor that for me? (i'd prefer to insert images and the like myself, if that is an option).
Freedom is important to me when writing a review, so i might as well ask what is possible.

Thank you for the reply, i will start the review on Kingdom hearts 3 somewhere this weekend.
More could be coming later though, more work to compare can't hurt right?
You'd generally do everything yourself. When reviews are edited, it's usually to fix grammar, alter the odd sentence to make it read better, that kind of thing. They're usually only small changes but they can go a long way.

Nice!

Looking forward to writing the review, it is something new, so an opportunity to learn.

To all the other applicants, good luck and have fun! (Pun intended)

Applied. Would love to write more reviews on here, I've written a number of them in the user review section. I know some of my opinions have been a little more controversial but at least they're discussion provoking.

Sometimes mine don't even get comments. I would take controversial over emptyness any day, least I have someone to talk to. :ninja:

Good luck to all of the applicants. Writing can be an enjoyable and strangely liberating experience.

I’d never imagined myself to be a writer, but last year I started doing a little for another website. It’s been more enjoyable than I expected it to be - though I do have the freedom to write what I want.

So if you’re on the fence, I’d say definitely give it a go.

Hmmm... It'ss tempting, but I'll pass for now. Reviewing frostpunk was awesome, but I don't have much free time anymore I also only have a pc, so I'm limited in that aspect as well (no mobile reviews or board games? :-) )

I used to write reviews for a long since defunct forum during my high school years. It was pretty fun at the time.
I'd love to give this a try, but only after I've got a review or two under my belt on here. (Since that site is no longer accessible, I don't have access to my previous work.)
I have the following gaming platforms available for current gen content:
  • Nintendo Switch
  • Nintendo 3DS (o3DS, N3DSXL)
  • PSTV
  • PC (Nvidia GeForce 940MX)
Once I manage to get a PS4, I'll be sure to add it to the list.

I'm not an active, contributing member here, but I do have a degree in communications, write/wrote gaming-based news, and exist as the current editor-in-chief for my college's newspaper.

Would I still be able to apply?

Yes, you're still able to apply for the position.
Do keep in mind that you'll need to have made a minimum of 10 posts on the forum before you're allowed to send in an application (since it's via PM).

Long time ago I wrote for a videogame news site,
it was a good time.

it's sad that now I do not have time to even apply for what I would have loved to do

man, this would probably be a heck of alot of fun, but my opinions on games are super harsh, I have college obligations, and am only moderately competent in writing (and even that's debatable).
Oh yeah, and the whole "poor and can't buy many games" thing. That hampers reveiw potential as well.

Well, hopefully whoever gets the position isn't too biased in some instances. There are some reviews here that make me wonder....

All reviews are biased. It's just about finding the reviewer with a bias that lines up with your own.

I see a lot of comments from people saying they can't afford the latest games.

Receiving games to review for free, sometimes even weeks before official release.

One of the boons of this position is that T-Hug and I provide you guys with a free copy of the game to review. Barring a few Nintendo games, all our reviews are digital games provided by the publisher.

lol three cheers for this. If we were relying on our own money, I'd have probably reviewed four games since joining staff.

I'm interested in reviewing Switch games, but I'm worried about how much time it might take up.
