Been out of the scene for a while and now trying to get back into it. I see nintendo is closing down the Wiishop and I assume the RockBand DLC is going down with it. I think I have everything I bought on SD cards, but I am going to grab fresh copies to make sure.

So here is my question, is there anything I should do to make sure I can use the songs later with a different Wii if I need? Other than cloning my NAND to the new Wii? I am hoping that after all this time progress has been made of backing up the DLC songs? Last I knew the only way was to download the song to the internal NAND, backup that NAND, and on the PC export it out as a WAD.

Bluedump mod might work as well, less steps too

Hmm will check that out. Doing a quick search looks like Yet Another BlueDump MOD (YABDM) might do it. Was that the one you were thinking of?

so this is just me

i made a emunand just for rockband and installed all dlc to it works on my wii and a friends wii no problems

I have tried the emmunand route but never got it so it could download the songs. Everything else worked though. Might have to give that another try. Which method do you use? I was trying neek.

hmm ok well I will take that tool as well. Might need it later lol. Right now just trying to archive my songs. :)

Also looks like I am using uneek2o r96 beta 8.6 Don't remember why I went with Uneek2o, but if I recall it was something to make the RB instruments more reliable. But will have to try neek and see if it is any better. Do you know if uses the same version of emmunand?

yes

EDIT: although the directory where neek looks for the nand might be different between neek and neek2o

Well that is good news. I will try to grab a copy Neek and see.

One interesting problem I just ran into: I have a bunch of songs on my SD card and upon starting up rockband, picking my saved game, it goes through loading the songs on the card (bar on the top left of the screen with band walking down the alley). BUT it starts flashing a pop up "addon conent cannot be restore to system memory" for each song which is odd because I wasn't trying to copy them. And when I pull up quick play the songs on the card don't show. Any idea how I can fix this?

This is on the actual NAND not emmunand.

After having issues, I dug around and found a old SD card with a few songs on it. And that works fine, shows up as playable all 10 songs or so. But when I try to grab a few more to that card, when I pick "download again" in the music store I get 204036 error? Never had that before. I don't think I did any modifications to this Wii since I downloaded songs last.

The odd thing is, this is just with my Wii, using the original disc, a SD card I know works (and did download them before with it), and a wired connection (switched from Wifi when I thought that might be the problem. Still the 204036 error. I am a bit stumped at the moment.

do u have priiloader hacks enabled for block all updates i think u need to look there first if u have it if so disable it and try again

Thanks for the idea, I do have it and it is enabled to block updates but that didn't turn out to be the issue.

Doing a lot of digging I found that error is often due to something amiss with IOS56. I reinstalled one version older (5661) with Dop-Mii and it now works. Either something went wrong with that IOS, or something updated it when I was trying to do something else and I never noticed until now.

Whew glad this is finally working again.

sweet man glad it is working again and ill tell u that a 16 gig sd card full size with emunand on it will hold all the songs

Hmm I don't see how. From what I have found there are the following generations:
sZAE
sZBE
sZCE
sZDE
sZEE
sZFE
sZJE
sZKE
sZLE
sZME
r9JE
The last one is the beatles rock band I think. Anyway I saw several things that says each one takes 5 gig if you got all the songs. Doing the math that is a lot more than 16 gigs? Unless we are talking RB 2, that didn't have as many songs? Or most in the Emmunand?

yeah sorry mine is 2 never got around to getting 3 lol sorry

Hey NP, I was just wondering if you were doing something different that I should know about lol. :) RB2 is a great game too. I have it, but wanted to get the pro aspect. And access to more songs so went with RB3. The keys option is great too.

Hey guys,
I am also trying to backup songs and noticed there is a big selection of songs that do not say purchased on my rock band store. Is there an 11th generation? I don’t see a tool for that in the rb3 dlc tool folder

My guess would be the sZME. I have heard that a few of the earlier WADs don't flag them all. From what I have read, look for one that has 9 and 10 (a quick search should bring it up). That version of 10 should do it. Just be sure to REMOVE that 10 first with a WAD manager, then install it. Or it won't work. If that don't work do both 9 and 10.

Though if you have a LOT of songs missing, my bet is the ones you used didn't all take. you might try uninstalling a couple of times then reinstalling them. Read that helped a lot of people.
