Config:

ReiNX 2.0
Sandisk 128GB
OFW 6.2

GoldLeaf 0.3
Latest Tinfoil as well as Ejec Tinfoil pack

The Issue:

If I format my SD Card to FAT32, I cannot use USB install on Goldleaf or Tinfoil + Aluminium Foil. NSP's over 4GB (I know this is a restriction with FAT32). The NSP Files just Hangs even if I split the file.
If I format the card to Exfat all NSP's install fine.

Any help appreciated

[Resolved] Using the Fluffy tool

You answered your own question. You can't trick FAT32 into using a bigger file. It's technically impossible.

exFat or no big NSP's, sir.

Thanks So Exfat it is then, Was hoping to use FAT32 as the mantra is no chance of sd card corruption runs through the threads I be looking at.

I tried with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe 7GB NSP it just hangs on a FAT32 SD Card. Installs fine on an Exfat

I guess some can use FAT32.

But yeah, I wouldn't worry about exFat corruption. I don't have any since Sep, although told it's random.

Just make backups and you got nothing to worry about.

How did you format it as FAT32? Tinfoil has no issues installing large NSPs over USB, which is not surprising since the actual NSP isn't copied over, just the contents (which are never even close to that large).

I first format to NTFS and then GUIFormat to format FAT32

However when I use Tinfoil usb or goldleaf and gold tree I get 0 per second transfer and just sits there. I left it over an hour and still stays the same

SUCCESS!!! so I tried application Fluffy and followed the instructions listed by the author. I also did a full Format of the SD Card to NTFS and then a quick format to FAT32. All my NSP installed 1st time. Couple of things of note:

1. Using the 32 bit version of Python and installed pyusb and also libusb
2. Using the recommended version of Tinfoil from the author of Fluffy.

Yeah it works great but it's the obvious Ds factor you loose from it it's not like playing atari games on atari because Nintendo actually use to give a reason to buy their hardware

I used a vertical touch 22" monitor for playing some 3DS games through Citra.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Can't be that far off from it not like ds requires super hardware
  • HiradeGirl @ HiradeGirl:
@K3Nv2 I did that using Citra for 3DS games. Bottom screen was my smartphone. Until I got the touch screen.

    Use a TV
