your right thats where i messed up dangit

the 14.00 dependency file worked?

Yep! I think the one in test build 3 might be corrupted.

Incidentally, what was the issue with controllers and needing to use an external keyboard to configure them?

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

I'll get to test in a minute and edit this post. But if the they where wrong why did it work for some people?

That's the thing. it fixed my issue... but it might not fix yours. Won't know until you try it out too.

I've been dealing with a theory all day that uninstalling the app/game doesn't necessarily uninstall the dependency data. It could be that those people had the correct version installed still, so the system just let it slide. Whereas you and I were dealing with truly clean installs (I had reset my system due to a mistake on my part) and lacked the files needed to get the install done.

i dont know how to get updated vclibs or i would help you guys

@ploggy i meant crusin usa shows that message not outrun

if anyone is getting the usb hdd nag in retroarch dont use device portal to install as game since it will not give you permissions so unless you move the app to games on dev mode it wont do anything

Heh that would explain why I wasn't having the same issues as you :P

I'm in the process of updating VS2017 to see if that makes any difference with the dependency files. It's taking forever.. slow ass lappy..
Still won't explain why it installs for some and not for others tho? (I'm rocking a Xbox S btw)

I no it was mentioned about the slow loading times. Have you two had abit of a comparison to see if either format loads quicker out of exfat and fat32?

Loading a ps1 iso with this new storage method takes around 30+ (through my USB) whereas before it would take less than 10 sec maybe..
I'm guessing this will get faster over time with updates though, because right now that's really bad :P
and make things like (full rom set) playlists impossible, unless your willing to wait 60 sec between scrolling lists :P

rom loading is gonna be alittle slow in general due to retroarch taking its sweet time to load things

fat32 shouldnt be any slower at loading games then any other format (that i know of)

the reason psx games take so long is because 2 things

1 the core doesnt support vfs
2 it has to copy the rom over to the internal to run said game because of reason 1

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

i still cannot get playlists to work

I've tried loading the core then scanning and I've tried just scanning 1 rom and still nothing

is it because there on the usb? or because there compressed? no permissions?

I haven't really noticed any slowdown with this version in regards to rom loading in general, even PSX is around 15-20 seconds. Though to be fair, I am using a 3.1 USB flash drive.

Although I really do not like the lag in assigning the controller(s) at start up.

That is strange. I just tested creating a playlist of gameboy games (original, full romset) and it worked fine. Moderately slow though, and it'll skip roms if you try to load a game during the scan.

Creating Playlists through the built in scanning has always been spotty for me on all Retroarch platforms, that's why I always create my own manually with playlist buddy, but it's pointless because when the playlists are listed on the ui it performs so slowly its basically unusable.

Hmm, maybe it's just because I only have the one playlist made so far, but the one I have is quite speedy.

I've never used RetroArch before, preferring to just have individual emulators. But on the Xbox One version, the only thing that gave the built-in scanning fits was Mame.

I'm in the mood for watching TV until I fall asleep, so I think I'll set my XB1 to stay awake and let it scan everything I have and see where it's at in the morning and what (if any) lag issues I have as a result.

Edit: Nevermind. It just locked up RetroArch having only 1 playlist. Oh well, not like it's a help for me to have them given all the files I have.

I have about 10 full playlists set up on here and I can assure you it's unusable. If I were to scroll from left to right it would take at least 6 mins before it would cyle them, before it would take 3-4 sec.
The file browsing is just too slow atm for full playlists, krzys_h has said more work needs to be done to optimise the speed. So things should improve soon. :)
