My two cents is people can believe it if they want to or know. I know I believe it will be releasing soon due to the fact I know someone who has a dev copy of it, not necessarily in the next 24-48 hours though.

This is for everyone...
If you don't like someones opinion you can ignore them. People are allowed to believe he is lying or not. Again, if you don't agree with someone you can just ignore them.

Considering Nintendo does firmware updates on Mondays, it definitely is not releasing in the next 24-28 hours, or even the next 24-48 hours! (:P I know you just mistyped). The earliest it will release is next Monday, January 28, 2019.

To say it'll be released eventually, I mean, so will firmware update 8.0.0. But you don't see people making PSA's about it....

My thing is normally the devs get it a while before public release, I've heard talk of 7.0 for a while now so and I know a dev that has it, so that does lead my to believe it will be sooner rather than later, but these are my thoughts on it

Is there any homebrew that automatically blocks updates so you dont need to be in flightmode on the switch all the time?

My theory is that this will only affect those regions where in the eshop you can only buy switch online (South America and Asia besides Japan)
It would make a lot of sense
What are you talking about? Every electronics store in Japan has Switches and games on the shelf.

EDIT: Oh.. I see now. "besides Japan". Gotcha

kiss lanplay goodbye :creep:
Preface: Yes, I know your likely shit posting.
Yaa....no. I doubt they would go back and patch all the games they included lan support for just to fuck over the small pool of people who homebrew there switch much less the even smaller pool who circumvent an online sub with funky lan online. Homebrew communities are always small compared to the overall user base.
Side note: I wouldn't be surprised if this place gets locked considering how much it's gone to hell :/

Hmm so even on 7.x we dont get anything that major added to Horizon OS.

Nintendo really needs to understand the need for at least folders.

I have roughly 200 games legit on my Nintendo Switch and managing them is becoming a bit of a pain.
Give me folders, give me filters ... but dont do major jumps when on the surface nothing changes that reflects that.

Going forward into the next whole number really should bring with it some major changes. Not translations and security fixes. We're allegedly heading into 7.0 and still nothing major has been added since release... Same layout that's missing a proper sort function, and no folders. Not even an option use a screenshot as a background? Come on Nintendo! Wake up already.

They probably won’t ever add any huge features ever, their highest prioity is security and adding more features reduces security by having more things that can possibly be exploited

Well that is very true but still neglecting consumer desires is never a real solution as it might push them in other directions. That being said; Why dont we have folders in the homebrew scene?
But let's save the we want this Nintendo give us stuff for a dedicated thread.

But so it will be dropping soon ... noted. Not updating hoping that it will have some benefits for a 6.2 ipatched Switch in the nearby future.

Really who cares. The update will arrive and then you will look silly. @garyopa has been fantastic to me and to be honest works really hard to make sure we can all enjoy our switch with backups. Please stop with the negative comments. Lets all wait and see what happens.

No, I will not 'look silly'. The issue here is that Gary makes up shit - the actual stuff he posts is false. There is a coming update, but Gary does not know the date that it comes or if there are anti-piracy related changes (or not).

He is somewhat correct this time, it will be coming out some time within the next week or two, but it’ll be 7.0.0-4.0 or 7.0.0-5.0

Yeah, but that's just him guessing based off information on the dev center - that the update is near-final, that Nintendo has a planned date for bringing up the Korean network services, etc. It's not like he actually knows.
