This is strange i get error code 2168-0001 and 2168-0002 when loading a rom using mupen 64 plus and the next version. I have not seen anyone else post with this error i guess its to be expected i am on firmware 4.1.0 I plan to update soon to 6.2.0 i will see if it works after i update but i doubt it.

Where do you download it from these links I'm looking everywhere. I always get confused on Github but usually it's under releases. However releases says 0.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Just download the latest thing from here https://buildbot.libretro.com/nightly/nintendo/switch/libnx/ and extract it to your sd card (the latest one as of right now is 2019-01-21_RetroArch.7z)

That's exactly what I did last night on the 1-20 one, I have no idea how I have an old version. Anyway it's not important I'll just do what you said.

OK I downloaded 1-21 Retroarch extracted the zip just moved everything to my sd card. Says 1.7.5 -Mupen64Plus OpenGL 2.5 501d298 and no frame duping. Do I need to delete my cfgs?

Most baffling thing is I had it a few days ago when I downloaded either 1-19 or 1-18 nightly.

I guess I won't worry about it the main games I want to play are Turok 1, 2 and 3 and all are working pretty well.

The build you think was fast did overclock memory.
I forgot to remove it when doing some comparisons.
Use docked.

But the latest build from today brings the speed back for me.
The one I tested yesterday and the day before that had worse performance.

the one im running now is Mupen64Plus-Next OpenGL 1.0 b36f939

After turning off frameduping, noise emulation, framebuffer emulation and LOD emulation I get full speed in Ocarina of time on the same places I had trouble with yesterday.

Im running at 720p, 16:9 adjusted and FXAA shader.

Ok I made a save-state in kokiri forest that has slowdowns with frameduping on, disabled frameduping and restarted the game by first closing it down completely. Now I have full speed again.

What's the purpose of frame duping? I thought it was a performance feature. Maybe it only works well on static pictures but is taxing in moving scenes?

Afaik frame duping is a way for the emulator to match the refresh rate of the display by duplicating frames. So for example if a game runs at 20fps, the emulator would still output 60fps but just display every frame three times. It doesn't improve performance, it just helps with frame-pacing for a smoother experience.
