I'm 95% done with the game, but I have no idea what the sealed cave is or how to unseal it. I thought it had something to do with the 4 chests marked by X on the world map in Magic Master, but apparently that's just for fighting a jellyfish thing to unlock a new summon. Anyone have any ideas?

Man, I have so many games that I need to play. I recently discovered GC emulator (Dolphin), so I starting playing that (about 6 months in). Played Custom Robo Battle Revolution, beaten that. Played Soul Calibur 2, beaten that. Played Wind Waker, beaten that. Now, I'm playing Twilight Princess. Next up, Metroid Prime. Then SSB Melee (the only SSB I played was the original N64, and I sucked at that game). Then Mario Sunshine (maybe).

And I also discovered PSP emulator, so I gotta play Metal Gear Solid and Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep.

I also kept delaying to play Mother 3 for GBA.

Not sure when I'll get to this game. It might be a while. I may play this before I play others. Who knows.

Probably DLC quests 1 to 20 has something to do with the sealed cave.

Good news to anyone who was having trouble beating the optional superboss
Kolmas in the dream world
It turns out the effect description for "Seal of Revenge" is wrong in a good way.
Originally, I jokingly put it on along with Shining Ring for the +150 HP to tank, hoping that the boss would kill himself while I just healed every turn, but it apparently doesn't reflect damage at all like it says in the description.
What it does do is add a ridiculous multiplier to your attack after taking damage before you attack. Think of it like counter or mirror coat in pokemon, except you have to use an attack the same turn you take damage.
Anyway, I was level 45 and a blizzard summon normally does like 60 damage, but with seal of revenge on and after taking a hit from the boss, it did 2500+ damage. I won in 4 turns. Some of the Japanese guides say to fight him at level 65-70, but this accessory breaks Oliver and you can win much sooner.

EDIT: I was slightly wrong about Seal of Revenge. You don't need to have taken damage in the turn prior to doing an attack. It just seems to work based on current HP. It is now the most broken accessory in the game. Just go in any battle with half HP and you hit several thousand damage to everything. Pair with a Provoke / Decoy Guard team and everything dies. It's even worse that you can synthesize this thing with a shop item and a common drop that you can both get from a ton of enemies or from shining spots on a bunch of islands.

Yep, pair it with an HP-increasing accessory and you can do some pretty crazy stuff.
I just OHKOed the "Manic Magimech" (from Mirant's quest series) with 5990 DMG from the water summon (Oliver is at lv48).

I feel so dumb now for wasting so many hours trying to beat that thing and Fire Ogrrrr. You'd have to have everyone defend the turn they use a screen-wide spell, then next turn provoke/decoy guard + heal + one guy attack, then defend again until the spell, and repeat until dead. Had I known how stupid that accessory was, I'd have finished them like a week earlier.

First of all thanks to the whole team that made this happen! Truly awesome what you have achieved here.

I‘m playing on a DSi XL with Hiya CFW and latest Twilightmenu (7.1). Needed a couple of attempts to make this work (had the white screen issue first): I patched it on OSX with Multipatch using the ARM7 file. That worked for me (in case somebody is struggeling with a similar setup).

Here's another one. Since I can't enter the cave, it should probably say "the seal IS protected by a strong force".

Print the 300+ page book?
yes. Why not? It's nice to read as bedtime story.
And with 376 pages, it's divisible by 4 so it should yield a nice book. Of course covers ideally should have to be hardcover..
I once used lulu for 4AD, 90-ish pages, they didn't provide hardback, it cost about $20 all in. I would pay $60 for a good book. However, current version has spelling errors that might be fixed in future updates, or not.

Of course Anjira (or someone else on the team having access to the source material) could always start this as a kickstarter project, and keep production costs to something lower. A stretch goal would be a nice jewel on the front page. I would go all-in!

please add SPOLER ALERT on posts such as these. Thank you!
I'm perhaps the last person to still be on 10% of the game and I do not want to look ahead!

Your remark stirs up unspoken issues :-)

TL;DR: 'The seal appears to be protected by a strong force'

Let's see the alternatives:

'the seal IS protected by a strong force' => hmm, unexpected, but try again tomorrow. be+past complete combination is bad grammar in any case (for example traffic is jammed / I am done with this game / you are fired) is spoken language, very modern, very US, and not something one would expect in an old book. Since Anjira is Canadian, and words like Armour are used in MM, pointing to British english, not American, I would frown upon US constructs. Moving on:

'the seal WAS protected by a strong force' => nice to know but as it is a story about the past, now its not sealed probably (eg. Once upon a time there was a prince without a kingdom..). Seems wrong in the screenshot indeed: if that was the intent, the text should be "A strong force appeared to protect the seal', and that seems out of place. Alternative:

'the seal HAS BEEN protected by a strong force' => hmm must do about it somehow before we can proceed. But it refers to an action in the past, which is not relevant, and the present condition is what matters. Not incorrect, but not ideal either. How about:

'It appears the seal is being protected by a strong force' ?

Its grammar indicates that it is an ongoing process overflowing to the present, which is the current situation, leaving implicit the origins, which Oliver has no knowledge about, yet.
However since the game is British, the omitted 'that' is missing, and would become 'It appears THAT the seal is being protected by a strong force', which simplifies to

'The seal appears to have been protected by a strong force'
or
'The seal appears to be protected by a strong force'

I would prefer the latter, or any of the latter, as it sounds more authentic, if that made any sense.

The US equivalent of the latter would be 'The seal appears protected by a strong force' which in a time travelling game about legends of old is just horrible. In board gaming context it would be like you draw a card that depicts an Orc carrying an AK-47 while riding a motorbike.

My first thought was If you want to improve grammar, do it well, but it turned out to be not as easy as it first seemed, specfic language dialect convention for NNK+MM has AFAIK not been made explicit.. Having doubts now, perhaps even better is

'The seal appears to have been protected by a strong force'.

it names cause, continuing effect and is to-the-point.
It's clear now why nobody writes any more, it's time-consuming and yields little.

I hope you don't mean by "and such" that the game freezes...?
Ordering an ace3ds now. Thanks so much!

Actually, I did that. Just did it on a color printer, no special binding or anything. It is nice. I've read a few of the stories to my sons at bedtime. The older one helps me look through it when the game calls for it. Nothing special, just back to back printed on normal copy paper in a 3-ring binder, but we like it.

Trust me, this is no spoiler at all. This is not a plot related quest and, even after finishing the game I still have no idea what this cave is about.

My R4 Dual Core 2018 always has an error message -6, with and without The Arm7 patch. I've yet to use YSMenu 7.0.6, so that might be the problem (nvm it works now with the Arm7 patch)
