I'm in a slightly weird position...

At first I got my phone from work. As such, I used it for "work things" (meaning: phone calls and sms), and my previous phone for games. Then they revoked that, and gave everyone a 150€ coupon to get your own phone.

So I spent it on a sony xperia...something (G3311, according to itself). Neat device. Large screen but not ridiculous (though it's close). That was 2 years ago, almost to the day. Back then it was touted that we'd get a new coupon every two years, but now that that period's over, it has gone rather quiet. :P
(note: even if we get that coupon, I don't plan on upgrading. It's a rock solid phone that plays the (low-end) games I want to play on it).

I have an iPhone 6s Plus. Its the good 128GB version. Agreed that camera is not the best but still ok. I like the look and feel of it. Not cracked, just had the battery replaced. Still runs all the apps and browses the web without any lag. The headphone jack is a big plus as well. Still have it because I'm happy with it.

iPhone 6S Plus I'd used from launch up until the end of last year. Then I was given an iPhone X, and I've been using that since. Honestly, I still prefer the 6S Plus.

I used a phone (not a smartphone) for more than 15 years. the date was even wrong because the calendar didn't allow any date past 2017... so I put 2006 to match the days.
I decided to buy a smartphone last year, and I plan to use it for as long as it works. I don't care about performance, power, memory or whatever. I need one for text and calls. I rarely use it, rarely take it when I got out of my home. I don't need to call or been called that often. a text a week is already a lot.

I have 3 phones soon to be 4 phones.

Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge had it for just over 2 years and is the phone anyone from rockstar and other contacts in the industry phones me on.

Huawei Mate 20 Pro my personal phone. Had it for about a month and thanks to a good deal with my phone provider it came with a free Nintendo Switch. And much to my surprise they supplied me with an unpatched model.

Huawei P9 had this one just over 2 years. Its smashed to fuck and is only used when I am going out drinking. I just pop the sim out of the Mate 20 and put it in the P9.

My work is in the next week or so giving me a Samsung Note 9 and they are letting me keep the S7 Edge which I will probably then sell or use as my drunk phone instead of the smashed p9.

It’s very rare for someone to call or text me. If someone needs to contact me they’ll message me on Facebook or WeChat. I use my smartphone for apps way more than the core functionality of a phone.

LG Stylo 2 I've used for about four years now. It's got a nice big 720p screen while remaining thin and it's worked great for everything I need it for. Also it was cheap as dirt when I bought it ($140). Only let down is 2GB of RAM, where ideally 4GB would be nice on a phone. I have an inexpensive smartwatch from LG as well, and no complaints there.

I might upgrade to a Galaxy S7 soon, only because it's almost as inexpensive as the Stylo 2 was now. It's also got more RAM, a higher-res screen, and I have no doubt it would run much faster overall.

I'm using a S7 Edge that I've had for around 2 years now. Still happy with it, the screen has an issue with purple splotches appearing along the edges when it's in bright light and especially on white backgrounds with black text, that move and change according to what's on screen, not sure what's up with that but it hasn't been a big enough issue to get it repaired under warranty. If it gets worse I'll have to though. At the moment it's no more than a minor annoyance.

Before that, I used a Note 3 that I had for almost 4 years.
Battery was still good, it still ran any app or game fine, I've overall been extremely happy with that phone and didn't really need to upgrade yet, I just wanted to (also part of that was because I wanted to take advantage of the free Gear VR deal and try out Gear VR, it's pretty nice for watching videos on plane trips or in bed although it doesn't get used often)

I'm certainly not planning on replacing this S7 Edge for another couple of years at least. I'll see how long the battery on it lasts.
I will say that I prefer the size of the S7 Edge over the Note 3. It's a good size, not overly big but still plenty big. I don't think I'll be going back to the Note series since I barely used the stylus anyway. Might check out Pixel or a cheaper brand the next time I'm upgrading, Samsung phones are getting too expensive.

I'm using a Xiaomi Mi A1 that runs Android Pie. I've had it since December 2017 and it's served me pretty well. It has USB-C and it feels like heaven plugging it in for a charge since it's reversible. Also the fact that it has a microSD card slot or Dual SIM is something I don't often see on flagships these days and having expandable storage/two networks is always a plus. Its internal storage is also REALLY BIG compared to my previous one which had about 16 GB plus more eaten by bloatware. This one has 64 GB and since it's pretty much Stock Android, the only ones pre-installed are Google Apps that I use on a daily basis, a built-in Camera App from Xiaomi and a remote app that I can uninstall. The LCD is a downgrade compared to my previous phone's AMOLED but I can live with that.

Before this one, I used an S4. I could've gotten a custom ROM on it but it was from AT&T and there was no way unlocking the bootloader. Hell, even rooting it presented lots of problems. It'd also normally freeze. I couldn't even uninstall the bloatware AT&T had put up.

I love my new phone and it'll prolly take some time before I replace this since this has loads of dev support from XDA

Iphone 5s. I refuse to "upgrade" to a phone that has an idiotic notch built into the screen. Anything non apple for mobile devices is not an option for me. So I have to wait until Apple figures out again how to make a screen without a notch. Hopefully they pull thier heads out of their asses sooner than later with this one.

iPhone 8 Plus.

My 6S plus got blocked by the previous owner a year and a half after I bought it off them... a$$h0les....

I just wanted an update for cpu/gpu, AR, storage and camera, and it was cheaper than an X.

iphone 6s up until October 2018 or so. It was only 16gb so I needed more space, and made the jump to iphone 7. 128gb so this one will be around for a long time to come. Until it is non functional I dont upgrade, even then it will be to an older model.

I used to have a Nexus 5 until 2017 when it died due to a well targeted glass of water (only explanation I can think on how that happened, water spilled directly into the charge port). I bought a Nokia 6 on September of that year and have been using it until today.
Lately I've been thinking of changing phones but haven't figured which one to buy.
