The ps3 controller works wired, not wireless 
Also, you do need to launch HID to VPAD every time you want to use the ps3 controller. AFAIK, HID to VPAD only works on Wii U. If you switch to vWii, it won't work anymore. It should work if you "injected" the games so you can launch them from the Wii U menu. There are tutorials on youtube for injections. (googled it, stumbled upon GameInCanada's channel, looks like a good tut)
