Homebrew Question Convert NSP to XCI?

At first I didn't have SX OS so I only used nsps, and i keep them on my computer. But now I have SX OS for the hard drive use, and I want the games to be on the hard drive instead of on the sd card (more room) How do I convert nsp to xci? When I do a google search it thinks I mean xci to nsp.

NSPs can't be played from the external hard drive right they have to be installed to sd or nand?

What you are looking for is NSC_BUILDER I use this myself to convert exclusive NSP games to XCI. You'll have to google it but shouldn't be that hard to find it latest version is 0.79
You'll need 2 things to get it to work tho. 1. Python 3.0 needs to be installed via Windows. 2. You need to dump your Switch Prod Keys then copy and paste those keys into a txt file and name it keys.txt[if you haven't already]

I think I got the keys when I was using xcitonsp, same thing?

Before you posted I found XCI builder is NSC builder better or does it matter?

Yeah your fine on the keys. I found the NSC builder extremely easy to use its basically a drag and drop kind of deal. All it requires are your keys and the nsp you want to convert.
Hell you can even build Super XCI's with the latest updates and all DLC inside it. That way we dont have to install nsp files saving more space

If it's a large game is it supposed to take hours? It's been stuck on "extracting nsp with hactool by scriesm" this entire time. It made several nca files and a .cert and .tik no xci yet.

I used NSC builder but got a root.hfs0 that was 14.8 gb and the xci was only 2.9 gb.

I forgot mention this. Go to your zconfig folder and edit the NSCB_options with notepad
Copy/paste this not sure if this will fix your issue the nsp could be bad if the builder just hangs. This is what I have and I have converted 2 big games with no problem so far. World of Final Fantasy Maxima and Dynasty Warriors 8 Complete Edition
Option 5: REPACK OPTIONS

Ok I have those settings entered now, and it doesn't matter that it says "NSP DOESN'T HAVE TITLERIGHTS" ?

Thats ok you should be able to convert it to an xci with or without it. All 3 of the Atelier games I converted said the same thing, but still got converted
