I'm not sure if this helps MrManamanaman but I had similar issues with Doom just a couple of days ago, it got me quite frustrated tbh but I fixed it in the end.
Delete Doom completely from your nsw data management in settings and download update v196608, it's about 9GB in size, install that first then load your xci or if your using the nsp version you need to download the full Doom nsp and install that after, that worked for me, it should boot and load without any issues. If you have converted Doom from xci to nsp via the installer I had issues trying this and running the game I had to delete the full title and go back to using the xci format I think the sxos nsp conversion from xci has issues with very large titles such as Doom or Wolfenstein 2 for example, well it did for me smaller titles like 2 - 5GB in size worked all ok anything bigger converted had problems like shutting down during play.
Edit I forgot make sure you back up your Doom save with Checkpoint before you delete your doom from settings.
