That's the update I just installed. I use ReiNX and 90dns, so when I'd run it, I'd get an error that pertains to network connectivity and it does not load single player. If I go in airplane mode, it does load single player. I only want single player anyway.

I get that error msg to I just ignore it and it lets me play with or without airplane mode

I'm not sure if this helps MrManamanaman but I had similar issues with Doom just a couple of days ago, it got me quite frustrated tbh but I fixed it in the end.
Delete Doom completely from your nsw data management in settings and download update v196608, it's about 9GB in size, install that first then load your xci or if your using the nsp version you need to download the full Doom nsp and install that after, that worked for me, it should boot and load without any issues. If you have converted Doom from xci to nsp via the installer I had issues trying this and running the game I had to delete the full title and go back to using the xci format I think the sxos nsp conversion from xci has issues with very large titles such as Doom or Wolfenstein 2 for example, well it did for me smaller titles like 2 - 5GB in size worked all ok anything bigger converted had problems like shutting down during play.

Edit I forgot make sure you back up your Doom save with Checkpoint before you delete your doom from settings.

Do you use 90dns? I was never able to get past the errors without going into airplane mode.

install that first then load your xci or if your using the nsp version you need to download the full Doom nsp and install that after

I did that out of convenience because the update was on my SD card first. Even so, I still couldn't past the errors unless I was in airplane mode.

Load devmenu and go to the game and hit the reset version required option this removes the system entry for the game in the game version list that's stored on your console

I was able to play by switching to airplane mode.
Using 90dns still stalls, must be airplane mode or nothing.

I still have to game telling me there is another update to download, but can ignore this happily.

Thanks for the advice everyone, I will try the reinstall suggestion from Reecey when I get a chance.
Game is great fun btw. Appreciate the help.
