sigh my reply to this thread on where to download the bax stuff has been deleted due to promoting my youtube channel well just search up CyDragonGM on youtube and look for FATE Episode 1 Starting Out! a link will be in the comments of a download from google drive that will help anyone make a bax and please3 don't delete this reply Flame i read and seen you've deleted my previous message and this time i'm trying to promote my own channel i'm trying to state where to download a folder that i made up that has things to help people make a successful bax.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

i meant not trying ugh drat you hands!

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Also idk how to post a question in the forums but i do know how to reply so here's a question to anyone that reads this... Has anyone tried to build software that can read a tmd file of an installed 3DS ware game or Virtual Console to dump the clean rom of the VC game... just recently today i had success of dumping a VC game and it was a clean rom of The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages and i ran it through mgba (PC version) and played perfectly after renaming whatever Nintendo encrypted it to well to a gbc file and the emulator read it! but the 2 other 3DS VC dumps i tried failed and they were both NES and Sega Game Gear VC. So the true question here is does anyone know of any way to dump the clean roms off the 3DS VC without running into problems when testing them in an emulator?
You know, you could just like, put the link, but put commas instead of dots...

Repo means repository. AKA a group of collection of files hosted online. He was looking for a pre-made animation.

An animation repository would require moderation (the old thread had a surprising amount of NSFW anims) and possibly a lot of storage (the avg single screen 60fps anim takes ~3MiB/s), and I can't afford either.

I suppose I could build a small website to upload them to and then host it in a VPS or something, but then I won't really be able to actually control what gets uploaded (not enough time).

well if people or someone would download the bax maker stuff that i put together with instructions in 1 folder there are bax files it i made up that are working and test from my old cfw Nintendo 2DS... so ya i provided some bax files and one of them i really like is my windows xp boot since Win XP was in my childhood so now on my 2DS it boots like Win Xp and the menu theme is like XP!

afaik it shouldn't, although I've never really tried A9SP myself.

read https://gitlab.com/Wolfvak/BAX/blob/master/makebax/README.md

yes ik i read the read me and something else the playsation dude said and together that helped me understand of how to make baxs... DracoMan671 just give me a link to the pokemon animation you want as a bax and i'll hapily convert it for you as long as you reply back either the same day you posted/replied or the 2nd day afterwards. i just need a link and i'll get started on the progress and then make a google drive link that you can download the bax from ok?

hello,
is there a more precise tutorial than the one in the readme.md? (for example, how do i "set up my bootloader so that it's the first thing that gets loaded"?)
i've never used a thing like this so i'd rather be a little careful to not screw up my n3ds lol
thanks and have a good day!

ok so here's the real question I got some old animated boots in the format that were in A9sp (the older boot animation that Wolfvak made before bax) and the animations have 2 files anim and config, now how do i change or convert them into ivf so that way i can turn them into a bax (the latest boot animation format)?

ok so your looking for a tutorial... ok i can type this up for you...

first of all bax files just need to be put into a folder and the cfw 3ds/2ds system will just play the bax without having to set anything in the luma menu or anything just follow these steps to setup your sd card (or micro sd card) and convert gif to mp4 or just an mp4 to an ivf file then to bax!

SD card/Micro SD Card steps:
1. make sure your micro is connected to your PC (not referencing Macintosh since i really don't ever use 1) by the wifi method or physically taking the card and putting it into an adapter.

2. once you have opened up file explorer go to your Micro/sd card and inside your card make sure to make a folder called bax (no uppercase) and put your luma/roslina boot.firm file into the bax folder so that way after it plays the bax it'll boot to luma for splash screens and then take the boot.firm that came with the official bax download and put that at the root of your card.

3. place whatever bax files you have into the bax folder (small note if you have mulitple bax files in the folder then it'll pick a random one to play since there hasn;t been a way to select which bax to play since that has not developed yet).

that's mostly it for the Micro sd card/sd card part

how to make a successful bax file:
1. once you have bax maker from the official download get a short gif file (and convert it to mp4 just google a gif to mp4 conveter) (skip getting a gif file if you have an mp4 file of whatever you want that is short)

2. make sure your mp4 file is in the same folder as ffmepg (this is very important) and in the folder ffmepg is in press shift and right click in an empty spot of the folder for a small menu and click on open power shell window here.

3. paste in this command after power shell comes up... .\ffmpeg -i "example.mp4" -f ivf -vf scale=400:240,fps=60 "example.ivf" (you can replace example with whatever your mp4 is titled).

4. after filling in the names for the mp4 and ivf make sure to have the _ moved all the way to the end of the command and press enter for ffmpeg to do some work.

5. now you should have an ivf file in the folder, now take that file and cut and paste it into the folder makebax is in (like makebax 64 or 86) then here comes another step...

6. do the same thing as step 2 and 3 but instead do this command in the power shell command window for the makebax folder...
.\makebax-win64.exe "example.ivf" "example.bax" -s 60 -c 1 -b 0000 -a "whatever" -i "something"

7. after pasting in the command make sure to do same thing as step 4 (but ignore mp4 and ivf as well as ffmepg) then press enter once the _ is at the end of the command.

8. after you see makebax process all of this congrats once it says or you see a succesful make bax file that you wanted in the folder you can cut and paste the bax into your sd card's bax folder!

ok now after having to type all of this and that when i am high enough level i can post a working link (with folders and instructions that took me less time to make up) without having to tell people to replace things for a working link.

ok so here's the real question I got some old animated boots in the format that were in A9sp (the older boot animation that Wolfvak made before bax) and the animations have 2 files anim and config, now how do i change or convert them into ivf so that way i can turn them into a bax (the latest boot animation format)?

There's a couple of things that dont click right here, so I'll split it up into chunks:

... I got some old animated boots in the format that were in A9sp ...
A9SP has got absolutely nothing to do with BAX, be it the new or the old one.

... older boot animation that Wolfvak made ...
you don't have to clear that bit up, I'm well aware of what Wolfvak has done in the past. I am him, after all.

and the animations have 2 files anim and config
Each "anim" file corresponds to raw framebuffer dumps, and the config file just says whether it's compressed or not, and what the framerate is.

now how do i change or convert them into ivf so that way i can turn them into a bax
If the files are compressed then you need to decompress them using this tool: https://github.com/d0k3/ban9comp
Once they're uncompressed, you can convert the raw framebuffer dumps using ffmpeg (input format would be rawvideo, pixel format bgr24) to an IVF file and feed that into the current makebax

By the way, could you stop it with the double posting? Even if you're replying to different messages, they're barely minutes apart...

ok i read your reply too Wolfvak and sad to say it that idk if this is irrelevant, but for me it's easier to explain something by mouth and when I write it/type it well that's when it may or may not click in together somehow i'm one individual that can explain by mouth well and by text it kinda sounds weird.
anyways i'll try what you said Wolfvak of the method you replied about, because maybe somebody or the community (GBA Temp) should take all the old A9SP boot animations and have them get converted to bax for future use.
