Has any more testing been done with the R4S Dongle? I would still like to use this on mine.

OK, flashed 0.9.6 with success... as I've understood, the charging issue was only present if the usb strap isn't connected, isn't it?

I'll report any issue (if I discover any issue of course)...

No. By my side the charging issue is always there with the usb strap soldered onto V0.9.5.

Gonna try V0.9.6 asap

Damned i have to disassemble the back of the switch again...Unable to reach Trinket bootloader mode...
I think i will put something on this f..tact switch to make it upper...:nayps3:

In test mode....:gba: sorry for the delay

@mattytrog Tests finished with V0.9.6 : console booted to Horizon charging fine. Tested power off charging fine too BUT after unplug the USB the switch won't boot up...:O

So, and sorry if this an stupid question, what's the meaning of detecting the usb strap once? I thought that this was because the issue was only present in 0.9.5 without the usb strap fitted...

OK... The pin on the Trinket / switchme that senses changes to the USB strap is very very sensitive. If you have the pin enabled without having the strap connected, it becomes almost like a little antenna and could POTENTIALLY cause spontaenous reboots of the chip.

By only looking for it on the very first boot, the strap test value is written to Eeprom on the chip. This value is loaded every boot to determine if you have the USB strap fitted or not.

The test is not ran ever again (unless you reflash the UF2) as the value won`t change. It is either there or it isn`t.

The issue was that this very sensitive pin, I made it not-so-sensitive by using what we call an internal pulldown resistor. This made it less sensitive but also made a new issue where the BQ24193 (the battery charging chip) was now getting erroneous information and (when console switched off) only charging slowly or not at all.

If the usb wire is connected, this sensitive phantom reboots cannot happen as the signal wire is permanently coupled to the BQ24193. Not altering the value, just reading it. On 0.9.5 it was actually altering it.

A mattytrog-sized fuckup.

Try flashing 0.9.6 again. Leave plugged in for 10 seconds after it disconnects. Try that.

I know it is working :)

Ok. But just a question : as you encountered the same bug like me with one other switch wouldn't be possible to create your UF2 with the latter ?

Yeap indeed it works when not letting the charger more than 10 seconds the main switch off.
Then its waking up

No sir. I've tested on 7 condones

I meant that when you first flash it, the initial reading is obtained when the very first boot happens. So it helps just to keep it plugged in just for one or two seconds after flashing. You shouldn't need to though.

Understood lol

But trust me after the initial flashing of V0.9.6 i particularly took care to reboot several times to be sure of the routine reading
