Restore VitaShell on Henkaku 3.65!

I found a super simple way to restore VitaShell!

1) Install QCMA - https://codestation.github.io/qcma/

2) Install PSVIMGTOOLS-FRONTEND - https://bitbucket.org/SilicaAndPina/psvimgtools-frontend/downloads/

3) Plug in your PSVita via USB to your computer. Run QCMA, then open PSVIMGTOOLS-FRONTEND. (Your account and AID should be auto detected.)

4) On PSVIMGTOOLS-FRONTEND's popup menu, press "Easy Installers" > "VitaShell" > "Install" (button). The program should put Vitashell in to your default CMA "APPS" folder on your computer.

5) Open Content Manager on your PSVita. Press "Copy Content" > "PC -> PS Vita System" > "Applications" > "PS Vita" > "VitaShell" (checkbox) > Copy.

DONE! Now you have VitaShell back on your device!

hi! I recently just downloaded psvimgtools from github and tried to open it on my windows 10. I managed to install but when I click the icon, the program opens a black window and runs through. I know a white pop up is suppose to appear but the thing just keeps closing by itself. Does anyone know how to fix it? (btw: I managed to get qcma running so I dont think it's that.

I am having the same issue. It successfully installs vitashell in psvimgtools, but when in QCMA to sent it over it doesn't see any applications. Any help or ideas?

i was able to fix it by using the account section and adding my account off the vita to the pc then it let me put vita shell back on.

was going to upgrade to 3.68 but its cold boot and has to be ran each time, so i think ill stick on 3.60 for now.

Guys I'm having some serious issues trying to get this to work. I've got a Vita Slim (2k) which is 3.65 Enso, and lost it unfortunately in a restore (long story). I've tried everything including trying to re-install H-encore simply bc it installs and has an option to install Vitashell (a problem I'd used to fix it on another Vita). I do everything correctly, but when I go to the final step and try to copy it to my vita, it says "Corrupt File", no matter how many computers or times I uninstall and try again! No one else I've seen has this issue.

Windows 10 (3 different computers) with latest PSVIMGTOOLS-FRONTEND (.7 from February 2019), and using QCMA. Any ideas??? please help

FIXED: (apparently all I needed to do was post here?!?) Finally uninstalled everything, removed ALL folders including hidden in appdata, installed PSVIMGTOOLS-FRONTEND first, then qcma, and it finally showed up to copy

So I followed every step, but the vita shell application isn't showing up in step 5, any ideas?

Edit: I figured out this issue, I needed to rebuild my database on Qmca, this then would let vita shell show up.

I made a backup of my Vita with a fresh sign in of the account. A brand new 8GB memory card. I started with a fresh PSVimgtools frontend and qcma. I have them both running as admin. I have the Vita successfully connected to my Windows 10. I have added VitaShell to the backup using easy installer. II refreshed the Database in qcma. It shows up in the content Manager on the Vita. So, in other words, everything works as it should. UNTIL I TRY TO COPY IT. It swirls and thinks for a minute and then it says "Some content cannot be copied. Then another window that says could not copy Vitashell. You can only copy applications that you account is the owner of. This literally doesn't make any sense. It should work exactly as explained.

Anyone else have this issue?

afaik, the content shouldn't even show up if it's to a different account after refreshing the database. it may be the savedata that's causing a problem, if vitashell has savedata.

It's not a different account. It's the very same account. Originally, I backed up the PSTV memory card to my QCMA. Then I put it into my Phat Vita. Then I reformatted it.

I couldn't use the Content Manager on the Phat Vita unless I signed in. So naturally, I signed in with the account that I use on the PSTV. That let me finally in. I could see everything from the backup. I followed the directions accordingly and it wouldn't let me do it. I figured that it was the fault of the backup from the PSTV. So I moved all of that out of the QCMA and put those files elsewhere on the PC.

Now I backed up the Vita as it is. A fresh Vita "user065" as QCMA calls it. There is absolutely nothing on this Vita except enso running and the login that I use for PSN (same as before) since you can't use Content Manager without one.

Then I added in this new account in psvimgtools front end and removed the previous account. EasyInstaller ran, I told it I wanted VitaShell, I selected the account, it says it made the backup. I confirmed that VitaShell was indeed in the APPS folder. I started QCMA in Administrator mode, then I refreshed Database. Then I launched content manager and it sees the Vitashell but will not let me copy it! I've tried with and without flight mode on. I've tried it with usb and with wifi. Then I tried those usb with and without flightmode. I can always see it, I can never copy it successfully.
