Distorted i meangot sm64 working perfect now but sound is a bit slow an extorted, any idea why?
I'd like to hear if @m4xw is interested in implementing thisMaybe it could have something like the shareable/saved cache system that CEMU used in order to avoid having to cache anew every single time a game is played.
do you mind to share a video of you running retroarch, and showing us your Options inside the core with F-zero running, i do not believe that you can get 60 frames and 1080p with stock clock speed
do it the same way i did here
and the settings included on OP zip files has your clock speed set to maximum overclock
using the nightly seems to have fixed most of my issues.
anyone know what settings i need to change to make the menue in zelda usable? currently, it seems like both dpad and stick just move right past any items and options and switch between the different screens
Once in game, open the retroarch quick menu, go to controls and set the analog to digital for your controller to off instead of left joystick.
The FPS on select screen dips on the screen but still runs fullspeed video, and without sound stutter. Races on the other hand CONSISTENTLY ARE 60FPS! It’s a bit longer than expected cause I was having fun racing, so just fast forward to the end for my settings.
I’ll probably just leave it for one day, two days at most and take it down, knowing how Nintendo is strict on emulation. Also with above settings, you can get some games like Mario, and other games running with underclock speeds.
you have to play for like a minute then Mario Starts to run Smooth between 59 to 60 FPS, i uploaded a video
like m4xw said and many others the core is decompressing the code to cache or something like that, sorry i am not an expert on why its happening
it gets stable after a minute or so.
you can get better results if you lower the resolution, mine is set to 1280x720
my settings for F-Zero X are:

^ this is your Core Options that you can access after you run a Game, if you lower the screen resolution you can get better results in most games.
make sure you have your Core set to: Dynamic Recompiler
or use m4xw .CFG File, its already setup

F-Zero doesn't go full screen for me, unless i used a game shark code or changed the Video Resolution in Retroarch Settings to Custom
save your settings for the game
Overclock your Switch to 1581Mhz or 1200MHz for best performance and almost no sound stuttering in most games
restart Retroarch and have fun
if you still not achieving full 60 frames on f-zero, you might want to update your retroarch
- Grab the latest Nightly from here: (it has the latest Dynarec Beta)
https://buildbot.libretro.com/nightly/nintendo/switch/libnx/
>extract and replace the contents in your retroarch with the new files
Run retroarch From your installed NSP or use the redirect method to run it over another installed NSP
>Load the Dynarec Mupen64Plus Core
>Load any Game like Mario 64
>Go to Options
>make sure your CPU Core is set to Dynamic Recomiler i am sure many have it set to the interpreter
like my screenshot here https://imgur.com/UWUdaGz
>Make sure your Game resolution isn't above 1280x720, you can change later and see what works for you best.
>Save Game Options File (saves the settings you just changed which you will not see until you restart retroarch)
>Overclock your Switch to 1581MHz
>Restart RetroArch
>Try your Game again
*set your Depth Buffer to RDRAM to: Memory (not like my screenshot which is set to: software
the latest Nightlies could be able to play the games on Stock Clock so no need to overclock, but i still keep mine on 1581Mhz because that's the only way i can have a smooth Castlevania SOTN play On PSX core, maybe overclocking isn't needed anymore for N64, OP has to confirm or release a compatibility list, i done my part!
also i need someone to Confirm if using Retroarch in Ozone mode benefit speed more, or is it the same as the XMB menu, because i think this menu is taking resources , i need to see game box covers...
ill remove videos in a few days*
Already sortedHi mate, i have it working great now but just one thing i want to know is, how do i get the fps to show onscreen when i play games?
Thanks
i Had Two things defferent then you, my Depth Buffer to RDRAM was set to software and Native 2D textures was set to true , it changed it and it works fine now on Stock, but now try 1581mhz and run the game from start, i no longer have any stutter to sound with overclock, even after restarting console
ill keep it on overclocking, since i like it without sound stutter on menu lol
ill PM you my Game Shark .Cht file along with other several new track 'patch mods' if you want, you can have infinite shield and booster, makes a big difference to the experience, cant go back to normal play , being indestructible is tempting
also you can make the game full screen if you do the same on my second screen shot for Video Settings, set it to custom edit the number like mine
the first time i experience this game was in 1997, i was 17 back then, i cant believe i unlocked everything back then..i cant even finish the second cup now, looking at my game cart brings chills to my spine....
wish if someone knows how to mimic N64 Controller Sensitivity, it feels very lose to control now, i keep changing it in settings but cant get it to work like N64
also maybe the OP could find a way to save all the uncompressed decrypted data (whatever its called) on SD card, so that we don't have to run through slowdowns and sound stutter every time we run the games, something like the shader cache folders from Wii U Cemu Emulator (someone already suggested this here on page 13)
also why isn't Project 64 a Core yet, it runs all my n64 games on PC with great performance
Send me the new track patch, and game shark... I’ll use new tracks, but probabaly try not to use infinite shield and booster.
what settings do i change to enable single joy cons?Yes, i play Cave shoot em ups on final burn with one joycon and put screen on Vertical
From Second Tab (where you see Video & Sound) go to :what settings do i change to enable single joy cons?
i'm trying to play multiplayer mario kart 64 with single joy cons in tabletop mode (portable).
Still getting pretty heavy stuttering. On Super Mario 64, for example, I hear "ITS A ME MARIOO O." Stutters are consistently at the same points every time I launch the game, sorta like its caching shaders or something. Is there a fix for this?
I ran into this yesterday as well. If you make a savestate prior to grabbing the Moon's Tear, just re-load it and you should be able grab it. For whatever reason, it doesn't crash the second time you grab it.thanks, that helped.
though continuing with the game, it seems to crash when getting the moon tear... so i guess its time to wait for new nightlies or something
i use oc nx.nsp for RA and have it changed to a .xci with NSCB and i have allways 30 fps without lags in SM64
and i use 720p high resi textures+alpha x2 and msaa x2 +3point aa+ sharp1 - with dynamic(beta) i get little lags with cached not
Do you need a sd card formatted to exfat?
Homepage Retroarch says sd card can't be formatted to exfat?
Do i need files from retroarch website + in this topic? or only this topic?
I tried download retroarch from website.
Extract zip. Put the NRO from this topic in the retroarch folder.
Boot up the Core. So far so good.
When I go to my roms folder it says No items. And scanning seems instant done. (eventhough i have quite some roms in it)
Then I try to load up my rom Super smash bros by using the "select file" option and I choose game..(have it in V64 and Z64 file format)
Switch crash..
Error code 2168-0002
EDIT:
Z64 does seem to load now
I guess V64 crashes?
So I run super smash bros. I go to options and Dynamic Recompiler is already being used?
I thought you needed to change it? Because it runs like utter shut. Completely unplayble
EDIT2:
Game seems only playable when you overclock switch.
Can you use max profile safely? 1785 mhz?
Also it seems like if I go on caches interpreter or pure interpreter the performance is better? Or actually it doesn't seem to matter that much to be honest?
If you overclock switch do you need to manually set it back to stock before exit retroarch or will it auto do that?
Any other options you can tweak for more performance? RSP mode is on HLE for me.
How exactly do you run these high res textures? Can you do
it for any game
For which reason exactly..? Do you happen to have the link to it? thanks!.................DOWNLOAD the Nightly Build of Retroarch
