So i bough an used sky3ds cart and with no instructions or anything i kinda went reading a lot of stuff, i only want to play fire emblem fates SE on it and i got this card which has a red button and a blue light im guessing first edition or something

Sky3DS.UK-top-sd-slot.jpg

so after many tries i found fire emblem fates isnt on a working template and i found a tool here on gbatemp that make our own templates (https://gbatemp.net/threads/create-template-for-blue-button-sky3ds-ourself.430142/) and i hex edited the iso so the AP is passed off so i can play the damn game, the problem is the game keeps switching on its own even if i only have one game on the sd card, seems it auto switches so i need to click the button on the cart to stop switching and the led will keep flashing blue permanently.

for someone who never used sky3ds nor has any instruction do i really need to click sky3ds button everytime to stop the game switching? is there any solution to just use the only game i have on the sd card?

Since using that tool makes sky3ds not work on my noonehacked o3ds but works on my hacked 3ds, is there any official template that includes fire emblem fates special edition that also works on noone hacked 3ds?

As far as I know there's no way to bypass the sky3ds ap check for red/blue button models on stock 3ds, whether using a custom template or the latest one to be able to write the rom to the card with diskwriter

When switching games. They will display if the firmware actually happens to be low enough, however it'll prompt to cart update to a higher firmware post-ap check impelementation, essentially preventing the game from booting. You could try using hans to bypass this instance if you allow yourself to use userland homebrew with the card, but the results could not be as good as keeping things vanilla due to the firmware discrepancies and hans compatibility (as well as risking an online ban from nintendo even at this instance based on what happened back in the day)

maybe you arent understanding my issue, i have only one game, when sky3ds is inserted the consoles keeps seeing

the game and icon and then after 2 seconds no game inserted, then after 2 seconds the game and so on, the game appears and disappears on the home menu, if i click on it it will start and then give out an error, but if i insert sky3ds and when the game is going in and out of and i press the red button the game stops appearing and disappearing and stays still and i can play it perfectly, is there any way i dont need to press the button on every damn boot?

I realized I answered to your 2nd question only... my bad. Unfortunately it might be an issue with the cart reader itself. If my supposition is correct, you'd need to be as careful as possible when moving the console after inserting the card. If instead the intervals corresponding to the icon appearing and dissapearing are actually consistent (like, precise timespans for each), it might be due to the fact that you hexedited the rom to bypass the ap check. Did you happen to try other games with the card? Preferably anyone without ap check?

no i didnt tryed any other roms and i did edited the rom to bypass the ap check, the intervals are fixed they arent random, also if it was card placemente why would pressing and holding the button work everytime? if the micro sd was going in and out holding the button wouldnt make the game stay there and stop suddently on every try.

There's something wrong. Introducing the card while holding down the button shouldn't display anything. However, try doing the initial sky3ds setup over again (it could be what we're missing):
-Insert while holding the button (do it until it doesn't display anything), wait a couple of seconds, extract the card
-Insert without holding, blue led should flash quickly for a brief moment, extract once it's done blinking
-Insert without holding, led should turn on a bit longer and display your game

try pressing it for like 3-5 secs. (also nvm the initial setup, that's for blue button)
like i told you, if i press the button for afew seconds the game will stay still and i can play it, but its a bummer i need to do that on every boot, becuase if i turn off my 3ds or remove the cart the game will keep coming back on and out again until i hold the button for afew seconds.

Wait, the game actually works? I thought you were getting "cart removed" errors while playing besides the icon issue. In that case that's better than nothing if you ask me. Unless the game doesn't save or work properly, I think it's not that much of a burden to hold a button for 3 seconds before playing a game...

yes i told you from the beginning the game works and everything if i hold the button save and such, but im very disappointed with sky3ds i tough the point of it was playing games like you used a normal cart, and now i need to press buttons and everything to make the game play on every boot , its very awkward and crappy considering the cart placing, if i just wanted to play the game i would have installed it since it needs cfw anyway and doesnt work on latest ofw, i wanted to have a special edition cart without spending over 200$ but i guess this is the best i get, well i got it for like 20 euros so meh.

Could be worse. At least you have cfw so you can play games directly from the 3ds' sd card. That said, remember that you can play games on latest fw if they don't have ap check, thus try writing games without ap check to the card and play those with ap check on digital format on the 3ds with cfw

i can just buy any 3ds game cheap, i just wanted this one since its basically the only 3ds game that is extremely expensive and has unique stuff on cart really.
