Hello.

I have a PS3 Slim 2001A, and was attempting to install CFW to my system with Psxploit. I went through Nor Flash Memory Dumper and backed up the dump.hex into a safe spot. I then went through the necessary steps and ran Nor Flasher. I got the Nor Flasher Operation Completed Message and then preceded to to put the cfw on my USB drive. By some unfortunate luck though my PS3 lost power while I was at the at the computer transferring files, and now It won't boot at all, not when trying to boot into safe/recovery mode or even trying without the hdd in.

I'm curious if there is anything I can do to unbrick it? I'm aware of e3 flasher and I still have my dump.hex however I don't think I did a another proper Nor backup after doing Nor Flasher, and don't really know a whole lot about the unbricking process.

Really appreciate any replies.

You will most likely need a flasher. You can sometimes get a signal by swapping hard drives. If your dump is good then its recoverable.

Appreciate the responses. I just tried switching hardrives, but it seemed to make no difference. I'm willing to get a e3 flasher though, I just hope that will unbrick it. If anyone can recommend a specific guide that would be a plus.

Validate your NOR dump 1st. There's various methods to validate your Nor dumps.

The nor dump i have validated okay, but It looks like didn't back up my nor after applying the nor flash memory patch. Is it still salvageable?

Wait,if the nor was already flashed then you should of been fine.A emergency shut down such as powering the console down by unplugging it shouldnt corrupt the nand, unless it wasnt finished injecting the .hex file.

Make sure its pluged in or check the power box you connected the cable to.

If it were bricked, it would still do the beep when you press the power button. Is it doing that?

I'm not sure what happened. I definitely remember getting the message saying it was okay to install my 4.82 CFW of choice, I can only guess it didn't patch successfully or something.

I Still get a beep when pressing the power button as well

Power cycle it with a new hdd in, and try to get to safe mode. If that doesn't get you anywhere, it did somehow brick and you'll need to buy a hardware flasher, or pay someone to do it for you.

Does it turn green, then turn red and beep 1 second later. That would be a corrupted nor then.

Now upon pressing the power button I get a faint beep and It just turns green and goes into a red flashing light

Bluray drive good? and not swapped out before? and what CFW were you trying to install? Also, have you validated your NOR dump?

Thanks for the confirmation. My only question is if i can still unbrick it despite not backing up my NOR after applying the NOR flash memory patch?

I still have my orginal NOR back up before applying the patch.
Yeah, you just need to get a e3 flasher. The nor backup i think only helps you unbrick it faster since ive seen people unbrick without one.

Thats great then. Thanks a lot for the responses. I have a flasher on the way, and i'm confident i'll be able to unbrick it.
