I tried it again but still no avail, neither N1dus or Tinfoil recognise files larger than 4GB!
Here's what I did, tell me if I did something wrong:

1)
LzxYIBA
- I split the NSPs (SSBU and Super Mario Odyssey) with SplitNSP

2)
DcqotwS
- The Split files had .nsp at the end

3)
qrDNyOw
- I click "folder is ready for archiving"

4)
d3GugBm
- Last time I only applied archiving to folder (Top option), this time I made sure to select the bottom option and apply to all files inside too (This still didn't change anything)

5)
fJ2LoK8
- I moved SSBU and SMO to tinfoil folder but n1dus and Tinfoil (v0.2.1) didn't find them at all

I installed Splatoon 2 yesterday but for some reason I still can't see >4GB Files in tinfoil, I tried to install with N1dus and I get an error, "set archive" with NXshell also does nothing, this is so odd

Or you could install them via USB using AluminumFoil. Works great on FAT32. No splitting required whatsoever.

Here, this video helped a lot:

If you don't have the USB install option in tinfoil, grab the tinfoil version from the Kosmos package: https://gbatemp.net/threads/kosmos-a-hekate-cfw-package.506280/

Also, for whatever reason, simply right clicking the path in AluminumFoil doesn't work when you press enter (on Windows 10)... you have to manually type the last letter. At least that's been my experience. For example, if the path where I kept my NSP files was "D:\ROMS\NSW", I had to hit backspace and manually type out the "W" from (...ROMS\NSW).

It installs NSP's surprisingly quick, comparing with how the N3DS installs CIA's. It doesn't transfer them, then install them; it just installs them. And there aren't any game files larger than 4 GB because I think the internal memory is also FAT32.

I tried the tinfoil.nro in that folder but for some reason it just gives me a black screen, I have no idea why...

I'm on V2.1.0 Switch if that makes a difference

Try setting the archive bit with the 15 mb version of nxshell. See if that works, otherwise I'm at a loss. It's gotta be your fw version or something. I'd consider updating using chiodorwhatevernx since it sets autorcm it won't burn fuses and you can always roll back if you want. Or explore usb install options, see if they work .

Holy crap! Great news, I dont know whether it's because i'm on version v2.1.0 but I finally found a version of Tinfoil w/ USB Install that opens!

I tried: "tinfoil-cbf4384" from October 6th and nothing worked

Tried: "tinfoil-601ce0a" from October 5th and I can finally see USB install in the options!!!!

Very weird how some version of tinfoil don't run at all, could be it due to firmware versions?

I'll try and see if I can USB Install my games now, (When I press Usb install i get an error: "OnSelected 60, Failed to initialize usb comms!, Error Code: 0x0000f601, Press any button to exit")

Are there any written guides as opposed to video guides? (My pc overheats when i watch videos atm, getting new pc soon)

P.S: Lib Usb Comms doesn't come up for me, i wonder what ive done wrong compared to the video tutorial...

goldleaf v0.1 pre-release USB installation works with 2.3.0 - 3.0.1 switch fw (tested on 2.3.0, 3.0.0, and 3.0.1)

The latest goldleaf releases >0.1 ditches USB install for fw below 5.0.0

What is goldleaf? Do you mean all usb installing applications?
Does this mean I have to update in order to use USB install in any application? If so do you know the guide for choudourjnx or whatever its called

I haven't used it yet (on a mac most of the time).

Are you using pre-release 0.1? Does your PC see the switch under other circumstances (TegraSmash for example)?
Any further info I'd check the official thread.

Looking like you may want to update your firmware or you risk less compatibility.
So long as you have the firmwares, and use autoRCM you can always go back.

I see this message when trying to install NSP files with Goldleaf and Goldtree:

"NSP Installation error, an error occured whilst installing NSP package: Failed to open the meta NCA (CNMT NCA) within the NSP. (error code 0x236e02)"

I just checked the Switch Hacking FAQ page and it's an updating issue, do you know a good guide for ChoiDujourNX, I am currently on a pc that crashes a lot and would love a good text based guide, is the one at:

^ Is that the only guide?

Also, what firmware is recommended that I update to, the latest to run all games? 6.1.0?

P.S: Thanks again, i'm getting close to solving this issue, im just scared of bricking my switch whilst updating

Or just install it using usb install in tinfoil/goldleaf ?
I did it for all my games on my fat32 card and that work fine.

ChoiDujourNX is a homebrew app, it's got a nice GUI & is pretty straightforward and foolproof.
Hasn't been updated in a while, so any info is pretty much the same as it has been.
Your biggest challenge (if you wanna call it that) will be finding the firmware, which is not allowed here.

What I do is.... Make a full backup (RAW + Boot 0/1).

Load up ChoiDujourNX pick where I put my firmware in the file browser. It checks everything, then I run it. I typically allow the option for exfat (even though I dont use it, just for the sake of compatibility).

Keep autoRCM enabled (its on by default). If you dont use autoRCM you run the risk of burning fuses.

It updates in a matter of minutes, then you reboot...

Inject your updated payload, start your updated CFW and update the joycons (unless you have a hardware mod on them).

And 6.2.0 is the latest, I have had weird stability issues so I prefer 6.1.0.

Dump your keys and I prefer the Kosmos package
