Cpasjuste ported OpenBOR to the Vita, based on Plombo's work! It works great!

I think @cpasjuste is just too busy to release/support his port. So I created this release on his behalf.

Description
=====
This is a release of Cpasjuste port of OpenBOR to the Vita, based on Cpasjuste's original port and Plombo's work before that.

I created a .vpk and .nro from Cpasjuste's port and made some improvements (see changelog below).

OpenBOR is a continuation of the Beats Of Rage 2D game engine, which was originally created by the wonderful folks over at Senile Team.

Installation
======
Vita:
- install the vpk
- copy game .pak files to `ux0:data/openbor/paks`
- enjoy!

Recommended Settings
======
For optimum display quality on Vita, after launching a game
- press Start to see the menu
- select `Video Options`
- select `Filtering: linear`
- select `Shader: sharp`

To change aspect ratio: After launching a game, select Video Options->Fullscreen Type: Preserve Aspect Ratio or Stretch To Screen to switch between between 4:3 or 16:9 aspect ratio.

Changelog

- speed up startup time by disabling excessive debug logging
- fix player 2, 3, 4 controls on VitaTV
- fix Vita button names in control mapping menu
- allow select button to be remapped for all players on VitaTV. Shader has to be selected in video options menu, not via select button anymore.

Big thanks for this!! Anyone tryed Saint Seiya : Death and Rebirth pak? On the PSP Openbor version I used via Adrenaline it worked good, but in this one crash at starting..is there a way to fix this? thanks ;)

Can anyone confirm the "beats of rage 5.1" pak works, it usually comes with a separate bor engine launcher, at least on the retropie

EdiT to ad-d what version of bor is this based on, it wasn't clearn in the page

Yes. Streets of rage is a blast. Did you know there is v5! Here is more info at

Anyhow, use retroarch for your streets of rage/bare knuckle fix.

(the "bor" scene is dead, but, like everyone else, I point to that release.................since its 5.1 update killed it for alot of pervious bor versions making it crash) (that was around the time the original xbox got some serious updates)

(mostly about everything good will work depending on the version............why i asked...............)

(this version of bor, clearly won't work either, for streets of rage 5.1, just pointing that out, the game itself, well, i'm not crazy about it!)

OpenBOR v3.0 Build 3016

thats probably the version, its using, the retropie uses that version. it was the build with the source released for arm processors or something. it won't have more or less compatibility. but:

thats the pack you would use to unpack the .pak files or repack them. (rename the file to "bor.pak", then run the "extract.bat" on windows systems).

I changed the release text, also on Github. When I said "all the work" I used that phrase to emphasize that I did nothing, not to say that nobody else did any work :)

love this! hope can do a Streets of Rage Remake port in future!
post a link to the Streets of Rage Remake OpenBOR engine source code or forget about it. The game uses modified version of OpenBOR and I don't see that version sources available anywhere.

SORR had several homebrew ports like xbox 1 port that also worked on 360 rgh, only have to copy original pc game data to a folder and launch the .xbe

i think it is a bennugd game (successor of div game studio/fenix)

This is a port for the Xbox1 of bennugd-monolithic (a game development language). This
port is aimed to run the Streets of Rage Remake v5 (other bennugd games may run if they
are compiled with the modules used by SorRv5). It was possible thanks to BoMbErGaMeS Soft,
SplinterGU for bennugd, the Fenix team, the people behind bennugd-monolithic and the SDLx
libs by lantus.

You'll need the SorRv5 release for Windows. Copy the following folders/file to the Xbox:

I think the, best game of all those I added on the vita, would be "battle arena toshiden origin". Its the creative side of Openbor, and that leads to a lot of amateur and ugly games too.

after you install the openbor.vpk file, put the ".pak" files in "ux0:data/OpenBOR/Paks/ .................... (you don't need to extract the .pak files or anything)
