!!! Happy New Xecuter Year SX 2019 !!!
SXOS251.jpg

Team-Xecuter is off to a fresh start with the New Year 2019, first they upgraded their outdated forums and launched their brand-new TX Community to give better customer support for their growing line-up of products, and now they cranked out a new SX OS v2.5.1 BETA for all those to enjoy with much needed 'bug fixes' and improved LAN-Play support, and they even had time to throw in new 'SX OS Feature' for everyone to enjoy, so check it out below, and start out the New Year Switch Happy! :)
Happy New Year, everybody!

We hope you've all had a smooth transition into the year 2019. Your friends from Team-Xecuter would like to kick off the new year with a small update to SX OS.

Lets waste no time and see what's new in 2.5.1:

  • LayeredFS compatibility fixes
It appears we introduced a regression in "LayeredFS" support in 2.5.0. This affected certain game mods like fan translations. This has been tracked down and fixed!
  • Improved Internet Local Wireless Play
Numerous stability fixes and improvements have been made to the Internet Local Wireless Play functionality.
  • Fixed false positive 'corrupted' message for installer
The Switch software management menu has an option for verifying the integrity of installed titles. When using this functionality with titles that have been installed through our NSP installer you would always get a message saying the title data is corrupt. This was mostly a false positive as the installed titles worked fine.. but we've hunted down the root cause of this and fixed this cosmetic shortcoming for all new installs!
  • Add support for installing XCI
You read it right, as of now you can also *install* titles that come in XCI format, just as you would be able to do for any content that comes in NSP format. This is useful for people who would like to access all of their games from the home menu screen instead of going through our menu. Of course you can still play XCI titles without installing as well!
That's it for today. The year is still young. Hang in there to see what we are cooking up in our labs!
(As usual, please remember all of TX latest releases & apps, can be found on their SX Portal website)

I got an EMUNAND related question: I opted for the method where the emunand is created in a hidden partition on the SD card. It’s a 200 GB Sd card where I installed games on until it was full. The switch settings now show me 2gb free on SD and 23GB free on System Storage. My question is: As I am in EMUNAND, the 32GB system storage should be the hidden partition on the SD and thus resemble 23 free GB on the SD. Am I able to install games on those still free 23 GB?

I once tried tx2.5 with my 4.1 OFW and 6.00Emunand. Tried to create a sd emunand. this failed. since then ever new version does not boot anymore so I went back to 2.0.1 stable which works. Sure hope there will be an actual stable version again soon.

It's been possible for a long time though (convert XCI -> NSP and then install). The single good feature in SX OS is the ability to load XCI files without installing them. This is basically just like installing NSPs, it takes double the space unless you're installing from a drive or something.

Yes, it takes double space .. temporary. Just delete the file after installing.

Is the stable version abandoned? BETA got multiple updates ever since 6.2 but stable version left alone. Some people only use firmware version that is stable and try to avoid BETA.

Wow they mess up every update and then come with a fix some days later.
That's why they are all labeled Beta. The old stable versions have limitations and less compacted features which is easy to mark them stable. They are probably afraid of getting a backlash if they release something marked stable while having someone report a bug or 2

I have a 5GB emunand, and only use XCI loading so I'm not really going to use this at all, but nice for those who will I guess

I am on the same situation

Could you please share how you were able to do it? I'm on 64gb card and would love to have the extra space..

I have the same question, can we use the emunand 32gb allocated space to install XCIs?

Good update, but we really need a stable version now.
Other than that, 2 thumbs up! TX rocks my switch.

It's GW team running under Xecuter banner. GW never had a "stable" version after the 9.x exploits were found on 3DS. They use this as a crutch for support requests - "Oh you're not running the stable version, that bug is only present in beta versions". It's a crummy way for them to push off actual bugs that they (or the community they "borrow" code from) can't fix.

It's safe to say that any latest release is a "stable" release for/to them. Even the version they released with brick code in it.

Yes you can. Selecting to install on NAND while on emuNAND will install on the SD’s hidden partition.
