@Bladeoner and dborth Thank you for all your work

You do not think that the music of the forwarder (Dragon Roost Island, even if it is beautiful) does not really think about the SNES ? ^^

So I change the music with a Star Fox, you will notice that the sound is sync with the appearance of the logo

What do you think ? ;)

Tested it out I like it a lot.

The controller that I use is an official SNES Controller that they released before the snes classic mini came out but basically it's the same controller.
I think the Dpad and Analog code are interfering whith each other, but since I only have this controller and wii+mote and gamecube controller I cannot troubleshoot or something like that.

What happens in the Rom menu it's going all the way up, and while playing a game it seems to press leftdown.

Hello Bladeoner,

Thanks for your quick reply.

I confirm that the version that I have used is the one located in https://github.com/dborth/snes9xgx/releases

I have some questions:
- Have you tried to create a Channel of the new 4.4.0 dol to be installed in the Wii U menu and be able to play with the Wii U Gamepad?
- Did you use the TeconMoon's to do it?

Thanks in advance,

Best regards

I have added a small feature I was missing. Since now it is possible to have 3 folders for previews (snapshots, covers and boxarts) I thought it would be a good idea to have a shortcut to navigate between them instead of entering settings->menu. Pressing the + button in both the wiimote and the classic controller seemed the simplest solution since that key is not used for anything else

If anyone wants to give it a try, here is the build

I uploaded a new version Snes9x GX 4.4.1 with SA1 changes on the first page, second post.

@Edu64 I could you please test if this affects Super Mario RPG?

Thanks in advance.

Hi!
I have tested "super mario rpg" and the performance falls in the same parts where I mentioned earlier.
Personally I'm still in version 4.3.9 because the most updated core will always affect one or another game and the benefits of updating are less satisfactory than the problem described above.
I know of the existence of the "RX" version of the emulator, but I'm not convinced by the font and color change of the interface.
Anyway I will be helping in whatever way I can with the advances of the emulator.
Thank you!

Thank you for testing, I will explain why there are so many issues with the SA1 games and the newer core. From 4.4.0 and up we use the newer core and in Snes9x where we backport the code from they use a value of 5 for cpu cycles which works for most games. We changed that, so the default to 3 and applied hacks for example for Kirby Superstar to change it for that game to 5, because it needs it. Yesterday I did some testing and the new code work fine except for Super Mario RPG you tested that. So what I want to do is see if we can make a hack for Super Mario RPG only to lower the value and then we have less issues with all SA1 games and we can follow more the code of Snes9x.

The way you test Super Mario RPG, do you play all the way through until the point where the issue is or do you use a save game or snapshot? If you use a savegame or snapshot can you share that with me so I can see what happens with the game?

Thankd in advance.

To perform the test I used a savegame, it is worth mentioning that the rom is patched into Spanish using an ips file.
Attached the savegame that probably works with the normal version of the game.
I show the part where the game has serious problems (mushroom kingdom), especially at the entrance of the castle.

Thank you for the quick reaction, if I need to patch the rom is not an issue I can read a little bit Spanish. I will test it.

You mentioned you are using 4.3.9 because some issues with some games. Please share which they are then we can look into it. 4.4.1 has some nice new features and the new core is running fine with most games.

@Bladeoner: With your test version Kirby Dream Land 3 to performance problems, always stage 2: /

But thanks for all you bring for this fantastic emulator ;)

Thank you for your feedback, if I can fix it for Super Mario RPG the same fix can be applied for Kirby Dream Land 3.

I think I know what need to be done butI need to check which value because the chance backported from Snes9x put the code upside down again. This game also needs the value 3 if I can describe it with the explanation I did for Super Mario RPG.

The problem that causes the issues in Top Gear 3000 is still unknown?

Yes, but I was thinking it is also in Snes9x 1.58 windows emulator. So what should be done is to test it on windows starting with version 1.52 - 1.53 - 1.54 and so on, to see which version was the last one that worked and then zoom in to see which change caused the issues.

One of the games is Kirby Dreamland 3, I have not done extensive tests in other games but possibly affect other games that previously had problems (using the core of version 4.3.9) according to some users, such as final fantasy III (6 ) or Seiken Densetsu 3 (Secret of Mana 2).
