It is safe to play games online with a Wii U. I don't think anybody has been banned for anything other than online cheating.

Off topic and out of curiosity, but is there a specific reason for getting a Wii U? Depending on what you want to play, the Switch might be a better investment if you don't already have one.

I actually was thinking of buying a switch, but i got a few reasons as to why not.
Where i live the games are too expensive, ass well as the console itself, and most games i want to play are ports from Wii U.
And the games that are switch exclusives that i wanted to play,i already played at my friend's house.

No risk on being banned for playing online on a CFW Wii U. Unless, I believe, if you cheat.

Also, please don't cheat. We already have a bad reputation as is, no need to further advance that. Reason I got a Wii U instead of a Switch is the same as yours, and I live in the same country as you, so please don't spoil the fun for the rest of us.

Sure thing! My Wii U handle is literally my username + an U at the end. I like to play Splatoon from time to time; and at least where I stand (Rank B), it really isn't that cheated-filled as people say. To be honest, I find it quite rare to ever see any, and don't even remember a specific case.

Can't help Enigma Hall's questions, though, as I don't know. ):
What is it with this thread and Brazilian people???

Got it for 800 golpinhos by a longtime friend who I always used to play with back when I lived there, and who's still a very close friend. He sold me the system with Zelda BotW, Bayonetta 1 and 2, and some other games on the internal memory (Wind Waker HD, NSMB U). I paid 200 more and he sold me also Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze and an official Pro Controller, and gave me a regular Wii Remote + Nunchuck by the side. So, a thousand golpinhos for a Wii U + 4 official games, plus some digital ones + Pro Controller and Wiimote with Nunchuk. Considering how crazy expensive Nintendo stuff is here in Brazil, and the fact Breath of the Wild was a mere months old back when he sold me the system, I wouldn't say that was a bad deal at all.

JACARÉS

It's worth it. Try to see if you can get a good deal on buying a used one, and CFW onwards it's all smooth sailing from there. Don't think you're gonna regret it - I know I didn't.

3DS online is smooth as always, but i am quite concerned about the wii u online service. It will stop soon right? Because of the change in the nintendo servers because of switch. (Fellow wiiu brazilian here too)

Not to sound ignorant, but at this point, would nintendo really care? It's just based on current observation that i ask. Nintendo don't seem to care much about wii u at the moment unless it's some law/license that needs updating. But i guess it can't hurt to be careful, since it's still a reputation to maintain maybe. :ninja:

Imo the Wii U is still at this point the better investment for a person who doesn't have either.

It depends on what a person wants to play, but for a lot of people, the Switch is a better long-term investment since it's still receiving new games, and the Wii U library is relatively poor.
