Does anyone know how to convert a Ni No Kuni save from 3DS using TWiLight Menu++ to either no$GBA or DeSmuME? I've tried the built in converters, offline converters, and a website converter, but the save won't be read. I specifically want it for one thing: Paying back that stupid cheating SOB NPC playing the General game at the casino. I've never seen a more rigged game in my entire life. I'll probably lose even with save states.

For desmume, you put the save in your save folder and choose "import backup memory" after launching the game, it will convert it to the desmume save type. If it says something about file size just ignore it and use the ones that are there. For importing back to your 3ds, just change desmume's .dsv to .sav, and delete the last part of the file in a hex editor.

1) Find the "modified patch" in the first post of this thread.
2) Patch your game with it (clean non-patched japanese rom).
3) Fully delete TWLoader (delete all TWLoader related titles through FBI and also delete TWLoader files in "_nds" folder).
4) Install TWiLight Menu++ and TWiLight Menu launcher.
5) Enjoy the game.
I got everything set up but I can't seem to patch the rom with both patches. can you please send me your patched rom? I'd really appreciate it.

edit: NEVERMIND I GOT IT WORKING! thanks so much for your help man, merry christmas!

can someone answer all password/riddles of dream world? you go there by sleeping in second town's inn.
Unfortunately, the 3rd riddle from the rabbit can't be completed with the current patch, because its answer is supposed to be 0(zero), but the game treats 0(zero) as O(letter) instead :(

I tried that using every single option, and neither were read. Every time I booted the game, it wouldn't even know there was a save file. I even started a new game, got to a save point, exported that save and saved it elsewhere, deleted the current save, then tried importing the save DeSmuME made, and it didn't even recognize it. I have no idea where I went wrong.

DeSmuME can read them directly, they just need to have the same exact name as the rom.
For no$gba you have to manually edit the ini file and change the line
Code:
SAV/SNA File Format == Compressed (good/lz)
to
Code:
SAV/SNA File Format == Raw
.

I'll try editing the ini file, because I haven't tried that yet. I'll give it a shot when I get home.

you can go there by sleeping anywhere.
For some riddles you have to look in the stupid book for clues though.
There's a Dream World illustration near the end of the Imagen list.

As the previous poster suggested, I loaded (renamed sav file on the microsd card, saved, and then renamed back) my ENG save on the JPN version of the game and was able to cast the Resurrection spell. You could use this method to bypass some of the translation issues.

I spent ages on the first one... you know, where you’re asked about something in many different sizes and colours, that we look after but in the end we break... and I figured it must be “cars”, surely? It wasn’t but I *think* I know what it might be. I thought “cars” was a great answer though! Anyway, I put the game in sleep mode, the battery died and now I can’t seem to get back to the dream world. Guess I just have to try sleeping everywhere.

Okay I just tried doing as you said for no$gba, but the save still said corrupted when I booted the rom.

Are you sure your 3ds save backup isn't corrupted? Can you upload it so I can see it?
It works just fine on my 3DS, but nowhere else. Here's my save.

my game froze after successfully drawing the resurrect spell.
Another person said they had that same issue and just loaded the game+save in DesmuME and drew the rune there. They then put the save back on whatever they were using and continued playing. But like a lot of people have said, it doesn't matter if you draw the rune, because you can't use it anyway.

If you have a little bit of OCD about the spell listings and you are using a flashcart, do the following:

1. Open the ENG version and save your game.
2. Open Flashcard in PC and rename the SAV file to the JPN version filename.
3. Open JPN version and load the save game. Draw the spell. Save the game.
4. Open Flashcard in PC and rename the SAV back to the ENG version filename.
5. Open the ENG version and load the save game. Check and see the spell is still there.
6. Rest easy, that you have the spell listed (Even though it isn't required)

:P

There are several things wrong with your save. It's 512KB, it's supposed to be 64KB. I tried to trim it down to 64KB but it's still unable to be imported to desmume.
