How to setup Emunand/ keep Sysnand online

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED
Aiming of having Emunand in this topic is to max out Sysnand to play online while Emunand stays offline

IF YOUR SYSTEM WAS BANNED YOU'D STOP READING FROM HERE
> DO NOT check whether you're got banned yet by connecting to the Internet or so.

There is always at least a risk to get you banned or unlikely to brick your Switch.
YOU'RE AT YOUR OWN RISK

> This will clean all ticketblob and error logs
Stay OFFLINE
> Settings > System > Factory Restore Settings (or System Initializing)
> Say NO when asking Internet connection
> Press on on the red button after all to restore.

UPDATE SYSNAND FIRMWARE
Skip this step if your Switch is up to date.

Complete the system initializing
> Connect Wifi to the Internet
> Optional > Create a new account and link it
> Settings > System > System Update
> Update your system to the latest firmware

Optional > Factory Restore Settings while staying ONLINE to make it completely cleans up.

DELETE ALL WIFI CONNECTION AND STAY AIRPLANE MODE.
> After creating Emunand, it must have NO CONNECTION.

CREATE EMUNAND
SD card must be plugged in to the system in order to boot SX OS Bootloader Menu

> On SX 2.3 Beta, the Emunand will be created on the SD card, the SX's Nintendo folder is renamed to Emutendo so that it won't affect to the keyblobs that can wipe out data on SD.

> Boot to SX OS Bootloader Menu (payload.bin) by holding [Vol+] button
> Option
> EmuNAND
> Advanced
> [Copy USER partition to EmuNAND] > [YES]
The process will take about 30 minutes if the system is now empty.

You will get Success

> Back to the main menu (3 big buttons)
> Turn on Emunand (on top of the first button)

> Turn off the system

UPDATE EMUNAND FIRMWARE OFFLINE
> ChoiDujourNX https://files.sshnuke.net/ChoiDujourNXv101.zip
> Copy ChoiDujourNX.nro to \switch\ in your SD
> Download new firmware update
> Place all files to a folder, fwxxx for example
> Run ChoiDujourNX form Homebrew Menu on Emunand
> Choose fwxxx folder
It will load all NCAs inside of the folder and will ask you
[x.x.x] or [x.x.x-exfat]
Choose one
It will continually analyze the data and will ask you
> Choose [Select Firmware]
It will read all the data from your chosen firmware
> Press on Prevent fuse burning (enable AutoRCM) to turn it off (we don't need AutoRCM when having Sysnand for online purpose), Press on Yes when it asks again.
If you'd like to have AutoRCM installed just leave it be.
> Press on [Start installation]
> [Reboot] > [Shutdown]

ENJOY WHILE IT LASTS

I did the whole tutorial the day SX 2.4 os released. Playing online with a legit mario kart. Entered e-shop, installed some games. Haven't been banned yet.
Good to know!! Could you please share with us here if something wrong happens?
Also... Which of the three emuNAND methods did you use?

Hi. Sorry for the noob questions.
What is linking nands and what is it for?
Also, how do firmware versions be different between emunand and sysnand? The efuses are to prevent previous versions to work? What I am missing here?
And lastly, what is the sleep mode problem? Does not work on emunand or something?

Hi all,

I'm using FW 5.1.0 and sx os 1.3 or 1.4 I forgot.

I'm planning to install the latest version of sx os for emunand. Can I ask why do we need to first upgrade our official firmware to latest?

And if I upgrade it to the latest, wouldn't sx os not being able to support it at the moment?

Is there a guide for the partition of the sd card for EMUNAND?

Been about 16 Hours and no Bans so far. been playing smash online (Eshop bought) for the last 6 hours.

Will post again in a week. (I'll also be adding a EmuNAND to the system with Atmosphere later today. Thought probably switch back to SXOS for the External HDD feature)

Welp, I tend to only use my switch on my dock, so when I want to play my cfw

Turn off switch -> rcm -> sxos and play
and it won’t sleep while im playing

When I want to play online

Turn off switch -> sx boot into ofw or just turn on switch normal -> play smash till my eyes hurt

The sleep mode issue doesn’t happen on the ofw, but yeah you really just choose how you want to use your switch and take an extra two minutes setting it up there
This is helpful. I was INCREDIBLY confused as to whether I was supposed to turn off/on EmuNAND if I went to the OFW or not. Anyways, I always leave it on and I boot into OFW and have been downloading/playing games with no ban issues.... If I'm doing this correctly. I even updated my OFW online.

When I boot into CFW with EmuNAND on, of course, I don't go online whatsoever.

Edit: Honestly, is there a purpose/reason for turning Emunand off? Lol
Also, the no AutoRCM mode and switching out the microSD is annoying but it's not too bad of a trade off. I only wish I could leave my SD card in there without it wanting to format lol

Hey, was wondering if someone can clear some stuff up for me.

I just got a switch that was on OFW 4.1. I used SX OS (2.5.1) to get to RCM and made a backup of my SysNAND. However, there was no support for ExFAT without updating Switch. So instead I reformatted my SD to FAT32 so my switch would recognize it. Booted into CFW to launch Choidujournx and updated SysNAND to 6.2 with ExFAT support. Then I rebooted into RCM and created an EmuNAND.

My question is since I updated SysNAND with Choidujournx to 6.2 can I go online with OFW and legit game or did using Choidujournx make my SysNAND dirty and likely to be banned when I go online? I didn't want to update SysNAND through official means because this would of burned my fuses.

Do I still need to restore my EmuNAND & SysNAND if nothing else has been done with them yet? Anything I else I need to do?
