Hi,

I have seen several videos on how to load CBHC and they all say hide the ! button and not to touch it, but they don't say why. What happen if someone does touch it, I have a 4 year old that plays with the system and will forget 2 weeks later that he can't touch that button he will eventually find and think its a secret cool game.

It just loads Haxchi again, like the non cold boot version icon would. When it says don't touch, what it really means is don't move or delete the file. But its generally safer to just tell people to leave it alone entirely.

Greatly appreciate the quick response, as this is a $150 decision that could go very badly not to mention time investment, would like to know if anyone has pushed it before as well and what their results were?

You can move it safely, heck you can stick it inside a folder if you choose to. Just don't ever delete it.

Assuming everything goes as intended when doing so that is true. But when moving files there is always the small risk of it corrupting on the way or a system crash part way through or power cut, etc. Safer to just stick it on the Nand and leave it alone.

I've pushed it. After one of the Wii U updates in 2018 it stopped cold booting. I needed to push it to get Haxchi running again so I could re-run the installation and fix it. Generally though you will have no need to as Haxchi will have already run on boot, so no need to run it again, not that doing so would do any harm.

You did the right thing though, when it comes to messing with any device in a way it wasn't intended it is always better to learn what things do beforehand rather than go in blind and hope for the best.

Excellent remark spectral! Its always good to get duel or tripple perspective about something as dangerous as this. Must understand the way the modifications were engineered so I don't end up with a kiddo bricking the works.

Anyway to password protect the button, or make it so you have to hold down a button to make it open? I just really want it locked down.
