I don't always like the guy sitting next to me. I just accept that I'm stuck with this guy for the next half a day and deal with it.
What if the plane was in international waters and two people who didn't like each other started verbally abusing and physically assaulting each other? What would happen? I did a bit of research and it seems like the flight attendants will restrain them and depending on the airline they may be armed with tasers. Worse, what happens to the guy who calls out "I've got a ...".
After landing what would happen? As far as laws go I would assume that since it happened in international waters nobody would be able to press charges against them. But I'm also going to assume that the airline company will file an incident report and pass on the report containing their personal details to some sort of international blacklist making it very difficult and expensive for them to fly for the next ten years. This is legal because them passengers consented to this by agreeing to the airline's terms and conditions. It's their own fault for not reading them first.
The last paragraph is plausible sounding speculation which I've made up. Does anyone know what actually may or will happen?
