You should use exfat for xci files :)
Then keep ur sdcard with fat32
Your post makes completely no sense..

I changed from exFat to Fat32 because exFat on the switch is buggy and has a higher corruption risk, especially if you wanna use the cheat system.

It's not buggy for me with 467 xci files . Every game works on exfat for me.

Here is my setup
HDD is exfat
Sdcard fat32 .
I never had a problem with exfat . Only retroach on exfat sucks . U need fat32 for retroach.

Plus I don't use cheats . Never try it
exFATs instability is not up for question, it’s been proven time and time again that it does not work well with various homebrew, but that’s not the point of this thread and is off topic.

@hippy dave Yes, considering TinFoil and SX Menu are both homebrew I would say this method works on homebrew and should work with roms and video files too.

@Wezaa After using the script just rename the folder to .xci instead of .nsp. I’ll probably be making an update to the script soon.

Will the the splitter work on an XCI file, or would I need an NSP to split first?
Thanks

It works on any file, it just assumes that it’s working with an NSP file and names the folder accordingly. You just need to rename the folder.
Just used your tool to split the 4 games.
Renamed the folders to .xci
They don't show up in the SX menu at all :(

EDIT -

Just me being stupid, forgot to set the folder to Archive

EDIT 2 -

After setting to Archive they now show up, but when i try to select a game it says gamecard could not be read

Here's my results:

Split via XCI Cutter:

Split via my NSP Splitter:

So I guess how it's split matters. While my NSP splitter was originally designed for NSP files, it works just as well on XCI files. I've had a few pull requests to make it more generic so it can be used for any file over 4GB that you may want to put on the Switch, but I didn't really see the need to do so until now.

I don't know if I have done something wrong, but I just can't play the games. They say "gamecard could not be read" for all 4.

When you did Smash in your example, were you able to mount and play the game?

Shit, you're right, I just tried it and got the same error. I assumed if it could read the meta data it would mount and didn't actually try it. This may be something SX Menu does weirdly, so hold off on using this until I work it out.
