My Wii U doesn't boot properly. It has Cold Boot Haxchi and Mocha installed. The problem appeared after installing a repacked game on the USB (Super Mario 64) following the threads on GBAtemp, using NUSPacker and WUP Installer GX2. The installer said that the installation was successful (I have used it before) but when pushing the Home button the console froze so I held the power button pressed to turn it off. When I try to turn it on it's stuck on the loading screen before the Wii U Menu (Wii U logo, then white screen and sound loading the Wii U Menu, then black screen and white screen and sound loading the Wii U Menu again and so on) as if it was not able to load the Wii U Menu. I tried to press B (to load the vWii Menu) and Home (to open the Haxchi boot menu) but they don't work. I don't have a NAND backup. I have tried unplugging the console for half an hour, remove SD, USB and disc. I don't know what else can I do to try to fix it.

No, I didn't touch anything else, I did the repacking on my PC. I know that I can't touch the DS game (it's on the NAND).

I repacked the Super Mario 64 60 fps games with the correct folders used by other forum members on Loadiine using NUSPacker on my PC. It makes the game an "app" that you can later install with WUP Installer GX2. I installed the game on the USB just in case. The only other thing that I did today was reinstall Haxchi or Mocha (don't remember well) by mistake on the Homebrew Channel, what I was really trying to do was launching Mocha so I didn't have any issues with signatures when installing a modified game but reinstalling Haxchi or Mocha by mistake shouldn't be the problem; I installed the game afterwards and it was the second that I installed the game and pressed the Home button that the Wii U froze and had to power it down.

You do realise that with cbhc you don't need mocha? Cbhc/haxchi has all the sig patches you need.

Anyways seems like you screwed cbhc. You didnt use SM64 to install cbhc i hope?

he asked help in PM and said I should post here for others to see, maybe someone will have more ideas :

reinstalling haxchi when you have CBHC bricks the console.
I think it's in a "semi brick" state, as haxchi does not have the proper information to be launch from boot. But I thought it would be stuck is a reboot loop instead of just black screen ?
reinstalling haxchi didn't reset the "autoboot" option back to system menu. it's still set to boot the NDS game.
there's no boot menu, because the menu is part of the NDS game, which is now not launched.

normal :
boot -> system.xml -> TitleID of system menu -> boot System menu (check if you press B to boot into vWii)

CBHC
Boot -> system.xml -> TitleID of the game to boot -> boot NDS game -> CBHC is here
the CBHC is also responsible for booting vWii so you can't use your vwii mode either.

I tried to look for other users with that issue, but didn't find anything (yet).
maybe you'll have more information in the thread you posted.

I suppose you don't have any text on screen ?
did you try to keep B pressed ? or A pressed ? maybe haxchi is launched and expect you to press B to CFW the sysmenu? or default should launch homebrew launcher from SD. maybe A to launch fw.img (official fw.img, or iosu patched one)

@lcw35

The reason is that the first time I tried installing a patched game with WUP Installer GX2 it didn't work, it said something like check WUP files and signatures, so I read a thread in here that suggested to the OP to run Haxchi, Mocha or sig2patch so I gave it a go but I accidentally installed Haxchi or Mocha again and I might have messed the boot up because previously I had Cold Boot Haxchi installed and probably when you install Haxchi again Cold Boot doesn't work? But no, I didn't touch anything else, I used Brain Training to install Haxchi a long time ago and never had an issue and I know that I can't touch it. It's probably what you and @Cyan suspect, that I messed the boot up by accidentally reinstalling Haxchi. If the patched games was the problem the console should be able to boot without the USB and it doesn't.

@Cyan I tried pressing all the buttons on boot (one each time). No text on screen or a trace that Cold Boot is working (no white text over black screen).

Good news! you should UNinstall or REinstall your cbhc. depends if you want to keep it (it's ok if you don't "play" again with haxchi) or if you just want keep haxchi to avoid any "boot problem" with cold boot.

uninstall cbhc is a good idea, it's the safest if you often forget which mod you did to your console.
especially if you don't touch it for a long period and you might forget how to use your hacks, or what you shouldn't do.
cbhc has few things to remember (never format, never delete the account used to buy the NDS game, don't move the NDS to USB, never replace the NDS game with one installed using wup installer, and don't install haxchi but apparently it worked for you).

haxchi is safer as the console will not refuse to boot, but you have to launch haxchi manually when you need signature check patched.
you'll also have to remember how to use it, (default, press B, etc.) and that you need CFW before installer/launching a game, but it's not dangerous at all.

run CBHC installer and choose uninstall option. it'll remove the autoboot information (set back the system.xml to boot the WiiU system menu).
it will NOT uninstall the rom.zip located in the NDS game, so it'll still be called "do not touch /!\" and will still contain cbhc inside, but will not be launched automatically at boot.

from here, you can either :
- overwrite the NDS game with haxchi
- delete the NDS game officially, and re-download it from eshop
- keep it like that and run it manually when needed a CFW, but it's cbhc, not haxchi. it means it'll not have the same features than haxchi such as config.txt

@flowlapache Thanks! I decided to reinstall CBHC again and it works! If anyone else has signature or WUP files errors while installing a game with WUP Installer GX2, DO NOT reinstall Haxchi because it messes the boot up if you already have Coldboot Haxchi. It's not really a signature or CFW issue so you don't have to launch or reinstall anything, it's just that the game that you are trying to install is not properly packed. In my case, the title key has not been created (you can use a common key title if you have CFW). Also, as I did, if you are installing a patched game do it on the USB just in case.

Thanks to everybody that helped me, this is the best community in helping people. And kudos to the WUP Installer GX2 composer.

@Cyan You are right but I have already reinstalled it. I have read that the latest CBHC version is safer, perhaps is worth updating?

the latest version of CBHC has some patches to prevent few things.
It shouldn't allow move of the game to USB, it shouldn't allow WUP installer to replace the NDS game.
but it didn't prevent you to install haxchi over the NDS game, it doesn't prevent console format, account or NNID deletion.
