Congratulations on the release! I know a whole lot of work went into this, and it looks like the team has done a really fantastic job!
they did. This game (because of this translation) got to skip my back log and is next on my list. Right after I finish Castlevania Portrait of ruin.

The game looks even better when enabling Hi-Res 3D textures on the DraStic DS emulator, plus using the scale2x shader so the text looks sharper now.
I could provide some screenshots...but sadly I'm very early in the game so it's just the real-world hometown.
Thanks for the tip, will have to try that. I was blown away when I first did something similar to Dragon Quest Monsters in Citra. Looked like PS2+ quality.

I can confirm it works with a DSTWO Supercard (firmware 1.25 beta) on a DSi-XL. I'm using the arm7 patch with the translation. 1hr 15 into game with no problems.

Many Many thanks to the translation team for this labor of love. It truly comes out in this very professional looking translation. Well worth the wait.

wow. I wanted to play with original controls on my dsiXL but with those settings it looks amazing on my Tab S with drastic. Will have to sacrifice real controls for the amazing visuals.

Exactly, and there is even more great looking shaders available rather than stock ones that comes with default DraStic setup. Can't post the adress link here since I'm newbie account but you can search for 'shaders' on official DraStic forum and grab one of the 'shaders.zip' package which contains dozen of shader presets.

Especially zfast_lcd, lcd1x and LCD3x HD are might looks great depending on your phone or tablet screen resolution. These ones makes visuals and especially the texts even more sharper.

Finally got it working on both my N3DS XL, with 2 different R4 cards, a R4i SDHC Gold Pro (Real time Save) & R4 upgrade evolution for DS.

Yesterday i got it to work on DeSmuME, but on 3DS always got: Load rom errcode=-6.
I found that weird since i got both the Japanese original rom & the Spanish translation one working.

I tried Wood kernel;YSMenu, changing the infolib.dat,TTMenu.dat and other files, but nothing worked.
So i patched the original Japanese ROM with the ARM7 patch by Hephaestus, also just using the original R4 kernel

Congratulations on the release & thanks to everybody for sharing the solutions.

Soo, I have been enjoying the translation so far, works very well. I am curious about the "DLC" though. It seems that some stuff is locked and could be unlocked when connecting online, similar to the Layton games. Is this content somehow available?

A save file with unlocked DLC was once available here: https://gbatemp.net/threads/preserving-ds-saves-with-the-dlc-flags-unlocked.362667/

Since everything is already on the cartridge, I assume that this question is not related to piracy.

The reason i'm using scale2x is because it is universally improves the quality, no matter what game you choose.
There are more shaders which i prefer, but sadly my tablet isn't powerful enough to handle them.

Ni No Kuni already looks amazingly beautiful with my settings, so i'm quite happy.

Thanks for this translation, I'm enjoying it a lot!

Noticed a small bug in the Travelling Clothes' description: bad formatting causing text going out of bounds and gitching.
It goes like this:
[Special clothes made fro
m
fabric woven of the Celes
tial
Tree. It is comfy and sai]
---
out of bounds glitched text:
d lo
Also, while I'm at it: is the translation using British or American variant of English? You might lose an L in "travelling" then. I'm not nitpicking by any means, and obviously can't tell by myself.

Yogurt also has out of bounds text on Feed screen.

I've got about 2 days lag due to work , but seeing the response to the patch is overwhelming, from news coverage to just general appreciation. It's been a loooong 5 years, but this easily makes everything worth it.
Throughout all that time I tried to keep the project going, but have to thank @Anjiera for keeping all of you updated and of course @Cyan for actually updating my first post with the latest news (I updated the front page as you suggested btw :) ).
I'm personally looking into the flashcart issues as well, since I was able to get it to run on my DSTT before, which I'm afraid is not to say that there will necessarily be a fix soon, it's not my specialty either. It does annoy me though :P
Thanks to all of you working along to solve those issues, they're quite tough to test since most of them are different and we can give zero guarantee on that. Also thanks to everyone leaving feedback and fixing the banner, that was a bit of an oversight, also because we don't see the banner when booting in DeSmuME, nor on my DSTT.
The feed screen is a bit of a concession. The descriptions appear in about three different locations (so I couldn't immediately find where the description for the Travelling Clothes went wrong; I did remove an 'l' in our internal version, for a potential new release, though :D) and the feeding screen has the smallest box for the text, without much of an option to significantly change the textbox, so I'm sure that'll show more overflow than just for the Yogurt. It's probably the biggest concession we had to make, next to the intro video, which would have been an absolute pain, since it does not automatically support subtitles like the other in-game cinematics (sorry @Aenkyn :P).

Bottom line, however: Thanks for all the support and I hope everyone enjoys the game to the fullest! It's a beautiful game with a gorgeous companion book to suck you into the world of Ni no Kuni completely. Enjoy!

Question! I recently created an OCR'd version of the Magic Maker y'all so graciously translated for us. Scanbot on iOS generated it so I can't verify that it's perfect but so far it's been indispensable to me for searching within the book. Would anyone be interested in this and would it be okay to post it if so?

Edit: here you go! I can’t post links so you’ll have to append this to the usual Google Drive URL scheme:

Go ahead, if it helps people play the game, that's fine by us :)

On a second note, I'm playing with the idea to release a new patch relatively soon-ish, since I found that I can make a new patch and get that to work on my ancient DSTT by updating the infolib.dat file fairly easily, while I can't manage to get our released patch to work  I'm not sure why that's happening, though, so I'll see if I can figure something out with @pleonex on that. Again, this might not immediately work for all flashcarts, since it remains troublesome to test, but we'll probably place it next to the existing patch to offer some options.
There would be some minor textual changes in there as well, like some things mentioned here before, but nothing major (so no feeding menu overflow fix, for example). I'll make sure to remember to update the banner as well for those that use it :)

First of all, thanks for the translation!

I am playing via Drastic and my Battlescreen is all messed up.
Is this a known issue?

I think I've seen it before, it's some setting in Drastic that's not set correctly. Your top screen and bottom screen are inverted somehow (the top one should be at the bottom and vice versa), while the text is in the right place. Some quick googling suggested turning off "Muti-threaded 3D rendering" so you could try that?

Just adding the decrypted fan-trans patched rom game ID to infolib.dat won't make it work. You need to to edit the extinfo.dat also if you want it to run on YSMENU/TTMENU.

Hmm, I'm pretty sure I tried that too. Strange. Nonetheless, if this helps people out, that's perfect :D

I can't go into details, because the one knowledgeable is drwhojan, not me. But like I said, adding the new translated rom game ID alone to both infolib.dat and extinfo.dat isn't enough to make it work. But yes, hopefully the current fix will satisfy, we couldn't make 100% confirm fix because of a missing tool that we needed, and that the 'sleep mode' issue is said to be more likely patch file related not to specific flashcart. :)
