So I got the home brew channel loaded and then usb loader gx. I have a game to test with my system attempts to load but fails with black screen to main menu.

It sound like this post here
usb-loader-gx-crashing-to-wii-menu.482341/

but I don't have internet with the wii in home brew to use method the mod mentioned. I found a person mention using wad but then they said don't its outdate. I just want to make sure I do it correct for the new ways but I'm a bit confused.

I saw the wii tutorial used ios236 wasn't sure if it still valid or not.

Any help would be greatly appreciated !

Hello,

Post a syscheck report here, following this guide ==>gbatemp.net/threads/posting-a-system-check.300279/

USB keys work poorly or not with the wii, prefer an external hard drive for better connectivity.

Here is my Syscheck.
I tried using another mod thing but I don't know where to get cIOS thing. I have Wii mod 3.2 and and multi mod manager 13.4.
I tried wii Mod but i don't have offline ios files.
but in the tutorial it says to do this
"Installing cIOS & Patching the System Menu IOS (The good stuff!)
Run 1. Wii Mod Batch (v3.0)
It should automatically start installing the neccesary cIOS, system menu protection and 236 (in case you need it down the road) wads you need.
Make sure it says "0 failed" at the end, and after a few seconds it will return you to The Homebrew Channel.
Continue on to Priiloader if desired (recommended)."

how do you know it requires a "specific" IOS if you didn't read which one it requires?
and no, that game does not require a specific IOS.
that game is very old, if you've read something somewhere about IOS version, it's probably a very outdated IOS version someone mentioned when the game was launched, it does not mean it requires that particular version ! it's probably just the current version which existed at that time.
DO NOT follow old information, it can brick your console.

if you want help, start by giving us your current setup. (run and post syscheck log here)

For information only (don't start editing your setup blindly!), here are the wiiware games which require specific IOS :
http://wiki.gbatemp.net/wiki/Wii_cIOS_EmuNAND_Compatibility_List#WiiWare_Games
you can see that Lostwind is not marked as "NO", which means latest d2x (v8 final and v10 r52 are identical) version is working fine. you already have the needed IOS, don't try editing it.

if you already have d2x v8 or v10 r52, and the game still doesn't work, it's not a cIOS problem. you have either a bad wad, or a bad setting.

Hello,

I have a black wii 4.3E softmodded with pimp my wii 3.0.2 and i am using usbloadergx 3.0 r1262.

As suggested, i have tried to run syscheck (Hde and 2.1.0 b19) and both crash during the scan on ios30 vulnerabilities test. So at the moment no syscheck report available.

The lostwinds wlwe wad is ntsc usa one requiring ios33 according showmii wads.

Any idea to fix syscheck issue please to map my configuration please?

Thanking you

pimp my wii is a very bad tool for hacking the consoles, it edited lot of unnecessary files and that's why syscheck crashes.
I think there are two mode : simple, and complete. I guess most users thing complete is better, but it's the contrary. simple is the required changes for all homebrew. complete is more changes than requires and create issues.

if you want, you can skip the check of IOS30 by editing the meta.xml of syscheck, there's a way to add a list if IOS to skip.
if pimpMyWii patched all your IOS, that's also the reason some games are not working when installed on your console (it has no relation if you launch the game from USBLoaderGX as it doesn't use IOS33 at all)

to fix a bad pimp-my-wii setup, you can use modmii.
it'll download all proper and updated IOS, and generate a guide based on your situation. follow the generated guide to replace and fix the IOS.
https://gbatemp.net/threads/modmii-for-windows-official-support-topic.207126/
in the menu, choose that you want to re-softmod your console and answer the questions.
