Why not? I have put in a 32GB card for a test. No problem.

It should also work if you format it to FAT32 - like wormdood already said. But... do you really need more than 32GB for DS games? Many games are small, about 64MB. Okay, some like Pokemon white/black 1/2 are fairly big.
If you want me to test SDXC, just tell. If you like I will prepare a 128GB card (will take some time) and play this evening with that and see if it works stable (with R4i Gold 3DS without Plus, but it should make no difference).

Is 2x 16 GB[1 for the for the R4I Gold Plus and my CFW for 3DS games] enough?

And could you test this SD micro card? https://www.dataio.nl/32gb-micro-sd...asYeNHdWaXZiTzXg4KMQZ_7sa26MJ4oAaArE6EALw_wcB

How could Itest a specific card?? I'm a private person, not a warehouse with a thousand types of cards… (would be nice to have so many)
This is what I can tell you:
  • I tested a 32GB (Kingston) card inside the R4i Gold 3DS (non-Plus). It works without problems. Any 32GB card should do.
  • The R4i Gold 3DS also boots with a FAT32 formatted 128GB SDXC Samsung EVO Plus. Games work and save at the first look. Tomorrow I can tell you if this is stable for some hours. EDIT: It is. Played various games, together about 2 hours. No problems.
  • I own about 50 DS games of all kinds and dumped them as trimmed ROMs. Together they take about 4GB which means in the worst case the untrimmed ROMs would take about 8GB.
  • 3DS games are much bigger. The latest Pokemon games (Ultra Sun/Moon) take almost 4GB each. Many other games are between 500MB to 1GB. If you have a lot of 3DS games 16GB(or even 32GB) is not enough. For the internal SD you should choose at least 32GB. More is better.

I haven't been following the scene real closely in a while, I've downloaded Persona Q2 on a US 3DS and just wanted to know if it's safe to download a title update through the eshop like US titles on cias? I know it used to be fine on imports but yeah

Greetings Gbatemp! This is my first post as I am a long time lurker!
Today I am seeking help as I am at a loss of what to do next..

Here is some background,
My "old" 3ds running A9LH. Runs Great! Athough its not even the updated A9LH, version 8 I believe.... I can give more details if really needed though!

Today I started to use Plailect's A9LH to B9S guide...

I was wondering about the latest update breaking things? I read that I can compile luma as a fix? Or was it fixed already though the files I gotten from the luma git page?
Not really looking to hardmod to fix an update issue ya know....

Thank you for your time!

The infamous "Failed to apply 1 Firm Patch(es)" was fixed some days after the 11.8 update. If you have downloaded Luma version 9.1 boot.firm (and you should have it since you're following the guide), there is no problem with 11.8 once you successfully did A9LH → B9S.

Compiling yourself is not necessary (it was only in the first days after the 11.8 update came out).

Hey

Long time i didn't do anything special with my 3DS.

I've heard a moment ago that the latest update/patch for 3DS firmware was implementing stuff from Switch security (kind of).

How safe/unsafe is it to update to lastest firmware with a 3DS running Luma with B9S ?

I just updated from a9lh version 8 to most updated b9s + latest 3ds firm updates!

I can connect to eshop no problem! and play online again!

I dont know what more you could ask for?

Hey y’all I’ve got a few more questions.

First, is there joystick support for emulators? Specifically for CSP II emulation. I’m only able to use the d-pad currently.

Second, I’m having difficulties getting
Neo Geo emulation to work. There seems to be a lot of conflicting information on about it. So any tips would be appreciated.

Thanks!

So if I understand from your story [sorry I'm not that great at English]

I can buy any 32GB micro SD [SDHC] card for my R4I GOld 3DS Plus, and transformat it to FAT32, and lets say a 64 GB Samsung EVO [SDXC] for my 3DS games, and just format it to FAT 32, correct me if I'm wrong

Both should be okay. 32GB (and smaller) cards already come with FAT32; you only have to re-format 64GB (and bigger) cards.

Hello,

I don't know if someone asked this before so sorry for that.

How to I identify which hack has been made on my 3DS?
Hold "Select" while booting. If Luma is installed, you will see Luma settings with a version number.

Hello everyone,

Straight forward question, as I was far from the 3DS scene in the last few month, I'm a bit lost (and I'm a beginner):
I would like to know if I can install various emulators on a R4 card?
I don't want to modify to much my 3DS by flashing a new CFW, so perhaps 3DS card are a better solution? I don't want to play 3DS game (I will buy it if needed) but I want to play GB,GBC, NES, SNS, NEOGEO, GENESIS etc... game only.

I read by the past you can totally come back from a CFW console. And I would like to keep my 3DS as clean as possible, without any junk files or obsolete files.

Straight foward answer is yes, there are several emulators for r4.

I couldn't tell you personally how they play, I had and gave away an r4i Gold fast, because I personally couldn't stand the device.

Sorry if this is the wrong spot for this but I've been recently having trouble with FTP.

I'm using ES File Explorer (android) and 3Dshell and gradually each time I transfer, they begin to fail or slow to bottleneck.

The odd part is however this doesn't happen when transfering a single large file like 1gb .cias, it only happens when transfering several small folders and files averaging about 50mbs.

Minecraft already has shown the 3ds version is shit on the 3ds. The real one is never going to play at any sort of decent rate or compatability with the 3ds console.

Thats a bunch of BS about the 3DS version. It ran poorly prior to the first update, it's been fixed by now.

About this fakebrick screen... I would guess this here. Probably only a harmless splash screen.

What do you mean with cias in folder? Can't see any cias you want to install with FBI or already installed games do not show up? Check the following:
  • Have you done any changes to your SD, especially to the "Nintendo 3DS" folder?
  • Is the SD detected in Data Management (System Settings) and showing number of "free blocks"?
  • Can you access the SD with GodMode9 and/or FBI?
