I plan on doing a hack soon, but I have a few questions.

I was going to buy a SX dongle, but it looks like Fusee Galee and a computer/phone can do the same thing. When a game dumped onto the switch needs to be updated, how will that work? Can I update over the internet, or must I download a patched version of the game? If that's the case, will saves carry over? Smash is going to be my main game, and I know it's going to get updated frequently.

Second, when will I have to reload the hack? For instance, can I put the Switch to sleep and resume it without reconnecting to my computer? My Switch is docked 90% of the time anyway, constantly charged.

Finally, when a permanent, untethered method comes along, will it be simple to remove the current method?

SX Dongle basically just houses the payload on a modchip that is designed to send it when the console enters RCM aka it uses the same exploit Fusee Gelee. As for the main question, you can risk downloading the update online with your console or you can can download the game's respective update in .NSP format and install it with any title installer, typically the same one you used to install the game in the first place. Not sure what you mean in reference to save data. Regardless of which option you choose for updating, the save data will also get updated once you start the game with the update
You will have to resend the payload whenever the console is rebooted or turned off. Sleep mode doesn't count as turning the console off because its just a mode that conserves battery energy aka the console stays on.
The current method isn't installed to the Switch so you can't "remove" it. As stated previously, you will exit CFW once the console reboots or shuts down so you can consider that as "removing" it.

So because my question from yesterday got overseen by the other posts so i post it here again (answer is important for me because of a Mod i will do:

„I have a question: I soldered the Trinket M0 to the console and it works great. Now i got a transparent case and i wanted to see some of the inside. So is it a problem to not install the Aluminum (thinks it‘s aluminum) Plate/Shield back on?

Because as is said it would be great to see the insight but i don‘t want to kill the console because it‘s overheating.

And a second question: I have a switch Motherboard where 2 capacitors fell of on trying to solder the chip in so the board is dead . Then i bought a used switch with cracked screen and put the Motherboard of that Switch to my first console so i have a working one.

Is there any possibility to dump the eMMC of the first switch with dead MOTHERBOARD so i can obtain the certificate of this console and have one if the cert from the used switch will get band? I‘m not sure if it works because the eMMC from the dead board aren’t the correct one for just using the eMMC with the second console.

What i thought about is the question if the eMMC can be dumped via hekate if it doesn’t belong to the motherboard or it doesn’t work because keys are not the correct one. Does anyone have tried that? Because i assume that RCM Mode should be possible either way only thing would be the console of cause doesn’t boot into the system but for a NAND-Backup and Biskeydump the console doesn’t have to boot into the OS.

I know i could just solder back the capacitor but my soldering equipment isn‘t the right one for sich small solder points and i don‘t want to pay much money to get it professionally fixed just because of the cert.

I hope my post isn‘t too confusing and you understand what i mean because can‘t describe it better because English isn‘t my native language

hi all
i have a chance to buy a 6.2 unpatched switch, i have a 6.1 so can use cfw,
i see 6.2 can run cfw but is this only if you have your key from say 6.1 or can 6.2 now be used the same as 6.1 in terms of getting keys and is the cfw only atmos untill renix patchs there cfw

With the emunand, can that be updated freely independant to the official firmware?
I.e my switch is on 5.1 but I could have an emu on 6.x?
Updating that emunand has no effect on fuses?

I have a swicth with OFW 4.1.0 and not read microSD exFAT. What can i do? When I put it in ask me for update.
After CFW installation with microSD in FAT32, Can I Change into exFAT??

i got my old switch on 6.2 and no sx os is running after that :-(. i bought a new switch and i am happy the switch is on 2.3 Firmware :-) but to run sx os the best way and don't lose the max of hacking options which is recomended beside 6.2 ;-) i got on my old one 5.xx and now i can go on a lower one. i need support for large micros sd cards i have 400 gb!
i know on sx os beta support for external drives exist.

Quick question!

When using tinfoil to install Updates and DLC, do they need to be installed to the console's internal memory? Or can they be installed on the SD Card and still function correctly?

I am using Reinx but it says the only atmosphere supports it.I remember somewere i the past I read something about running nsp files on atmosphere with Reinx files or something like that.
Does anyone know how I can do that So I can use the pokemon mod?

As far as i know the game don‘t need to be installed it can also be an xci you load via SX OS (If you are on 6.1 or below as SX OS isn‘t updated yet to support 6.2).

I just came witha thoguht in another post:

Lets say I have legit 6.2 OFW and 5.1 Emunand with all the NSPs and XCIs(actually , dont know if thats possible), could I play my legit games and free games online?

I mean, it's posible to have lower emunand than sysNAND? How would that work? I read somewhere than sleep mode wont work

I use ReiNX CFW, so all games and updates have to be installed from NSP Files to run haha

Am i right in thinking that CDNSP is no longer a thing?
Is so, what alternatives are available to get updates and dlc?

You are right that doesn‘t work anymore.
You habe to search for Gameupdates and DLC via google
