If my console is in sleep mode, can I switch SDs with different installed games and run them? Or will it throw an error?
Are you using 32 or 16 GB SD CARD?Hi guys...when I backed up my switch nand with hekate it told me free space in sd card wasn't enough so it gave me the backup in 14 parts.. is there a tool to merge these parts in one for eventual restore.
Many thanks
There is a script in this tutorial to combine all parts into one single .binHi guys...when I backed up my switch nand with hekate it told me free space in sd card wasn't enough so it gave me the backup in 14 parts.. is there a tool to merge these parts in one for eventual restore.

thank you@re2j: I would recommend you to always make backups with cert if you don‘t plan to give it to someone else because it‘s better when the console is online.
But there is a ban risk whenever you connect to Nintendo while running CFW.
That it was played before on another console is no problem even if it were with CFW or not.
If that would be a problem no one would be able to sell used Games
Also you are free to own one cart for multiple consoles if they din‘t play the game at the exact same time
1. I wouldn't trust it myself, but I suppose you could. Just make sure that when it restarts, you have your jig ready to enter RCM mode manually. My current firmware version is 3.0.0
1) Is it safe to install firmware updates by using NSP files using Tinfoil?
2) Is it worth to use more complicated versions of updating in order to not burn any efuses?
I haven't heard much else from it, but I'm happily running 5.1.0 currently, and I'm actually able to run more things on it over 4.1.0 which is what I had upon my first open.I have recently got an unpatched switch for homebrew/backups but it's still in the box (XAW1004600xxxx). This version should be 4.0.1, or perhaps 3.0.1/3.0.2, correct? I've read a few places that there's merit to having a switch lower than 3.0.1 for an untethered coldboot exploit in the future. Is it worth to see if I can get a lower version? Has there been any progress on that exploit?
Didn't see the thread, but seriously, why does one need 6.2.0 right now? 5.1.0 works perfectly fine WITHOUT all of the extra tracking features that 6.0.0 added to help ban hacked consoles. However, if you want to, you can look at the latest commit for Atmosphere and see that 6.2.0 is indeed supported, provided that you supply the keys if you've obtained them. There was a thread created informing people that Atmosphere could run on 6.2.0 if you provided the required keys. Does anyone know why it got removed? All notifications regarding the thread also vanished from my notifications page.
5.1.0 is the best because it's not 6.0.0, and it's the last firmware that actually added functions that games need to be able to play properly (this includes homebrew). 6.0.0 added tracking features that help them ban consoles. You don't want that.i was just about to ask which firmware i should put on my emuNAND and then I saw it mentioned above that 5.1 is the current best for CFW. I'll definitely go with 5.1 then as you are supremely well informed and a hero of this forum. but just so I can learn, may I ask why 5.1 is considered the best? I know it can run Devmenu which is useful if you want to delete game updates without deleting the whole game. i was thinking of using 5.1 for this feature alone, unless there is some other way to do this on 6.1
also while doing some reading I saw a post where they said that loading into sysNAND after running emuNAND caused their sdcard to be completely wiped. I'm assuming this no longer happens cause of something about there being an emutendo folder, but i just want to check first as in a perfect world I'd like to be switching back between my emuNAND and sysNAND.
The method I used to update to 5.1.0 from 4.1.0 didn't need the SD Card at all; not sure what you need!Hi, Does anyone know if I can update my 4.1 switch to 6.1 by using 64gb sd?64 GB is exfat.
Smash requirea 5.1 not 6.2Hi,
I've kept my Switch on 4.1.0 for a while (originally was on 3.0.0 but didn't pay attention and got ninja'ed by a cart udpate), hoping to get into CFW when it's safe since I only have single player games on my switch. It's a hackable one, my SD card is ready and I often read the tutorials, the only thing I'm missing is a paperclip/jig.
I'm also waiting for my Smash copy, which will probably require 6.2, which I understand will deny me CFW access for the foreseable future.
My question is (a pretty noob one), how safe it is for me to get a CFW right now ? Would a 6.2 EMuNAND setup be safe enough to play Smash online or should I just let it go and update ?
Thanks in advance
Yes that‘s possible via the Homebrew Choidujournx. You only need the Firmware Files which you can find via Google (can‘t post link here because the Firmware is Copyright Material).Hi, Does anyone know if I can update my 4.1 switch to 6.1 by using 64gb sd?64 GB is exfat.
Nice ! Just to be sure, does that mean that if I update using a Smash cart I'll be on 5.1 ?Smash requirea 5.1 not 6.2
I think yes but I would love someone else to confirm thisNice ! Just to be sure, does that mean that if I update using a Smash cart I'll be on 5.1 ?
That means I can start playing while keeping my switch CFW-capable, but still I'll have to update to play online eventually. So, I guess my question is still valid ?
No one really knows for certain (unless you count the people that have acquired the game "early") right now. If you update using the Smash cartage that will be coming out, since it presumably works on 5.1.0, that's the version it will most likely have. Even if it does update your Switch to 6.0.0 or above, it's not like homebrew won't work on it eventually. We already have the keys for 6.2.0, it's just that nobody has released a working CFW for it right now.Nice ! Just to be sure, does that mean that if I update using a Smash cart I'll be on 5.1 ?
