Doesn’t sound a bad idea to me I use a portable hdd on the go and when it goes into standby it shuts the game down TX might of done this intentionally for 2.3beta it is annoying.

How often does it come back on?

Hello,

im sorry i couldnt find something similar. I just got today an new Seagate 2.5" HDD (external for sure) and connected it to my switch.
Everything runs very well (okay, a bit slower, but thats okay).

But now when i stop playing and put my Switch in Standby... the harddisk stays online.

1) Switch Standby - Console goes off
2) Harddisk goes also off
3) Harddisk starts to get power again
4) 2 + 3 repeats

Is there no other way as to unplug the Harddisk always?

Would be really nice if somebody would have an idea, currently im still on 5.1 with exFAT support.

Thanks in advance,

Sorry for the late feedback, i just tried and wait 5minutes and then i simply unplug it, as i dont want to crash the HDD.
So it seems that it will be endless, as in this 5 minutes i assume it was several times, every cycle need approx 10-15sec till it starts again. Some times it even wake up the switch hehe.

I've been using a powered USB hub with individual switches per USB port. After putting the switch to sleep, click the switch for the USB port off. Fairly convenient and don't have to deal with the hdd or flash drive, whichever i was using, staying powered on.

As someone else mentioned, use a USB hub with physical on/off switches will make sure the devices stay off. It's annoying that the dock doesn't cut the power when the switch is off but i guess it enables you to charge up your controllers from the dock if needed

What's the Point of this? If it turns it off while it's on, I can just unplug it and leave it nearby the Dock, and plug it every time I need it
