The DS and DS Lite don't check date of certificates as far as I am aware. The DSi probably does but only on DSi games due to compatibility issues. And most likely does so for the Internet browser it uses.

When it comes to the GTS Heart Gold and Soul Silver seem to have the less problems with it, same for Mistery Gift. I have still been unable to trade even using a real DS Lite with the real games. And yes Mario Kart keeps disconnecting on me.

If anyone has been able to connect using an emulator, please tell.

Edit: I was able to use the GTS with the real games. It worked better with Heart Gold and Soul Silver.

Mario Kart DS connection is hectic. Sometimes connecting and sometimes throw error code like 61010 or 85020.. idk why :/

So far I had the best results using a DS Lite and a cart with the game (it doesn't matter if it is a pirate one, as long as is not a Flashcart. Same goes for Pokemon).

And to the guy who is cheating? Please stop, is quite evident you are doing so. Your character looks like a mess after the first race.

Edit: Pokemon Pearl, be it in a flashcart or the real game, gets stuck forever frozen in Mystery Gift and can't use the GTS. Pokemon Diamond and Platinum work fine. Pokemon Heart Gold and Soul Silver work and forget about any of the Pokemon Black and White Games. And let's not even start with Black and White 2. Mario Kart has worked best for me on the DS Lite for some reason. My old DS firmware is v4 and the DS Lite is v5, maybe is that? Who knows.

Edit2: Pokemon Black in Spanish can enter the GTS but I can't deposit or trade without getting errror messages. Anyone had any luck with the DSI versions of Black and White?

I just successfully connected to "WFC" in Heartgold but after receiving Mystery Gift and going back to the menu the game freezes showing white screens only, despite this when I launch it again, the guy is still standing in Pokemart and gives me the gift, so it's working. I'm using R4iSDHC dual core.

Set the DNS in the DS WiFi settings, then launch the game in TWiLight Menu++.

Yes and it works fine. The problem is not that many people are online at one time and once groups are made, new people aren't joined in.

I put in the DNS but when I try to save settings I get 'These settings are invalid. Confirm the information and try again.' @shutterbug2000

1. The base DNS is dead, please use RC24's DNS, which is 164.132.44.106.
2. Both DNSes connect to Wiimmfi, a popular (German) NWFC alternative.

Still getting the same error. I can't even save the settings. I'm trying to use online with Metroid Prime Hunters.

I get that when inputting the wrong password settings. You're using a WEP/unsecured/hotspot connection, right?

Probably. Do I need to login into my Router or something? Also when trying to input the DNS I went to manual setup.

Yes, you need to change the security settings in order to get it to work on DS games. I would recommend adding a guest network, if possible.

That explains why not even Mistery Gift was working lately.
