Hacking Can I still use SD Emunand 6.1 if I update my Sysnand to 6.2?

I am not worry about 6.2 since I don't have games that I like for 6.2 at all. So I am fine with lower firmware than that. :)

Makes sense since EmuNAND and SysNAND use the same fuse count during the warmboot (aka sleep mode). So just like if you put SysNAND into sleep mode on a firmware lower than the fuse count, EmuNAND will also crash if put into sleep mode when running a firmware lower than the fuse count.

Is there a reason the fuse check hasn't been patched out of CFW warm-boot?

Warmboot binary checks your fuses. If they are equal or less than needed, sleep mode works. Otherwise doesn't.
So if you updated to 5 or 6 and burnt fuses, and go back to 4 or 5, it will not work.

Unfortunately this can't be patched, because warmboot is signed with nintendo's private key. So any modification to that binary, also breaks sleep mode.

You can supposedly try this though (but I have no idea how exactly):

I suppose that using a warmboot from another version may work. Never tried that though.
With hekate you can do this. Dump a warmboot that matches your fuses and use that on the downgraded one.
warmboot={SD path}
And then create a patch for secmon, so it will use the correct PA segment for warmboot (also checked together with efuses).

Yep, I'm able to boot into my SD emuNAND on 5.x with my clean NAND on 6.2.

To anyone with AUTORCM: Booting into "original firmware" with SX OS results in a black screen though, so AUTORCM isn't very helpful right now with SX OS.

I'm still on 5.1 so I'd like to do this. I'm assuming the process is as simple as: create SD emunand, remove SD card, update console to 6.2?

I'm on the exact same boat as you, I've created an emunand already so my sysnand and emunand are 5.1

According to the thread, "How to setup Emunand/ keep Sysnand online" (I can't hyperlink, thanks GBATemp :hateit: )
we're supposed to go ahead and update the console, but according to what Drax said:
So just like if you put SysNAND into sleep mode on a firmware lower than the fuse count, EmuNAND will also crash if put into sleep mode when running a firmware lower than the fuse count.

this might render our consoles unable to do sleep mode.

Let me know if you end up going through with it? I just want to be able to run my cfw/homebrew and maybe play fortnite online occasionally

Oaky so I was on 6.1.0 , backed up nand and didn’t have exfat update ... updated and ended up in 6.2.0 :/ so the nand back up had no exfat support , I then backed up my 6.2.0 , after the exfat update , I then restored my 6.1.0 nand back up and am currently creating an emunand on the sysnand using sx os 2.2.1 since I guess I don’t have exfat support because I restred my 6.1.0 back up which was prior to the update , I want to move the emunand to the sd card so I can return to my 6.2.0 back up safely and keep my 6.1.0 emunand on the sd card , how am I able to enable exfat on the sd card without booting into ofw since iv downgraded , if I do it within the emunand surely it won’t effect the sysnand therefore not letting me move the emunand , or is exfat supported within the sd is bootloader? Is it possible to move your emunand or create a new one on your sd card without the exfat update on your sysnand , if anyone could help me it would be much much appreciated , could really use some clarity

I got an issue. System won't let me create a emunand. The error that comes up is FFFFFD66. Any suggestions? Updated sysnand to 6.2 with a few burnt fuses. Also cartridges won't work on ofw
