Just fyi guy's - i posted a similar thread to this one in the team xecuter forums (because i use sx os) and one of the mods has replied advising that there has already been internal discussions about adding a feature like the one i suggested (a 'check file' option to check an nsp or xci for destructive behavior) so hopefully they incorporate it into a future release! :D

Also, reading other threads on gba temp, it seems the people behind this horrible act might be gearing up to make further attempts to brick more Switch's using fake releases of upcoming game like smash bros so BE CAREFUL.

The best ways to not brick

1. Have a nand backup, seriously, this is the most important thing.

2. Don't download random nsp/xci files and install them

3. Learn how to use a hex editor, I'm sure if you open up a bricking nsp/xci file with a hex editor, you would be able to tell it isn't a real nsp/xci file

If possible, it would be a nice gesture from the guy who wrote the code to be working on it. Since he couldnt help those affected by his work, at least it would avoid further damage. Its the least that he can do.
From the guy who says he's sorry but planning to release the bricker again in the future. No thanks. Trusting your switch again to him should be the least thing on your mind right now.

They’re currently discussing adding a time delay to the brick code and attaching to actual xcis/nsps. We are gonna need a way to distinguish them otherwise pure chaos will erupt when sb is released.
