How long into the switches life cycle do you guys think the hackers will out-do nintendo with Emulation like what they have been doing since the wii days? Or if ever we manage to get a dynamic re-compiler up and running for n64 emulation on switch?

Dolphin is too general. A Mario Galaxy has much higher requirements than an Animal Crossing on Gamecube. Personally, I don't think it's possible to emulate Mario Galaxy at 60 FPS on the 1Ghz Swtich CPU.

But nintendo already emulated mario galaxy on a tegra x1 chip ironically,

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

This is for N64.

Dolphin already has a 64bit ARM DynaRec.

If dolphin already has a dynamic recompiler, Then what else would they need to optimise to get it running smooth (99-100% speed) on switch??

The shield's X1 is clocked way higher than the switch's X1. Overclocking is being tested but hasn't been released to the public yet.

Guys don't expect ps2/gcn emulation until the new switch model releases with extra ram a powerful cpu and "more stabillity"
Either that or a dynarec comes out. Never know what's possible. But if that were the case then let's wait an extra 5 years shall we?

Dolphin currently struggles on a Shield TV, don't know how it will ever manage fullspeed on Switch.

But thats still nothing more than an educated rumor at this point, And nothing may come of it, it would be pretty cool to have a beefier switch, but we have to keep our expectations in check >.<

Holy shit last time i saw these things Dolphin was running (basically POC) on one at like 10fps. This has really come a long way.
Yup, these run at like full speed, I really want one, and it can play basically any game from like 2015 and down, basically every 360-ps3 era games runs fine and early 8th gen games run ok as long as you set everything to low.

Nintendo knowing theiry systems and games inside out helps them a great deal with Wii Emulation.

I'd personally bet on getting VC injects first. As for the shield running faster, sure, but isn't it running on Android? Switch should be more efficient. Not to mention, we have overclocks incoming, and I'm willing to be Nintendo would OC officially if they needed to for Wii VC.
