Don't want to add fuel to the fire, but.....Seriously, calm the f*** down. He asked a legitimate question AND he said devs/geeks, which is neither impolite, disrespectful or rude whatsoever.
Devs are generally geeks, and before you blow another fuse, know that in this day and age, I don't consider the word "geek" a negative word AT ALL. It's a word that describes a person who is greatly committed to his/her hobby and knows a great deal about it. Developers usually are very skilled in their field, hence you might call them "geeks". That's not being disrespectful, more like the complete opposite.
Downgrading is mainly for people whom hope that we will someday have an exploit that does not require RCM and a jig to activate. The general rule is, the lower the FW, the greater the chances of this happening. With that being said, you cannot boot a firmware lower than your fuse count without a custom bootloader, and you need RCM for that. So, you needn't worry about downgrading if you are fine with the way the current exploit works/have already burned fuses past FW 4.1
