Morning,

while I did not brick my switch with PLG due to lack of interest, I would still like to update it from 5.1 to 6.1. My roomie was careless in how to use it, which is why it got banned eventually and I have to use ChoiDujourNX to update however I got some questions regarding the process.

I have a NAND backup which I think I created post updating to 5.1 through the normal way so my fuses are burned, but just to be safe - is there any way to verify which firmware the backup is from?

As mentioned above my switch is already banned, is there still any substantial benefit of using SX OS' emuNAND or should I just go ahead and update the OFW since I got nothing to lose anyway?

I'm not fond of AutoRCM and rather use the jig/dongle if needed, can I skip the AutoRCM part mentioned in the setup guide here or would that be too dangerous/careless?

Thanks in advance and have a nice day!

I don't recommend disabling AutoRCM especially if you update using choidujour. If you boot even once into OFW, you burnt your fuses. While AutoRCM does have it's annoyances, I know I accidently boot OFW on my modded switch often enough that I couldn't recommend not using AutoRCM.

Enabled autoRCM through the SX OS and placed all files on the sd card, however when I press R on the album to get into the homebrew launcher it says there are no applications to start. E: nvm, i downloaded the exe

As you can see on the screenshot I do have a switch folder on the root, ChoiDujour in the switch folder (those firmware files are in /firmware too) and even placed ChoiDujour on the root after nothing showed up when I select the /switch folder. What am I missing?

I hope you got it figured out, yeah. I always put the firmware ncas in a folder named Firmware on the root of the sd. Then Run Homebrew, run ChoidujourNX, select the folder with the ncas and let it do it's thing.

Make sure to back up your SD card contents, your biskeys, and of course Nand and Boot 1/0 files before proceeding.

Not sure if it does anything helpfull but I also disabled autorcm before running since ChoidujourNX will enable it for you.

Just update to latest firmware while on OFW. There's no reason to not be on latest firmware.

Make a new nand backup after you update.

First post mentions being banned, so casually updating wasn't an option.

That's the first thing I did after updating. ;)
