Being at rawnand.bin.07 means you are only about halfway done at this point (It should go all the way to rawnand.bin.14 before you are completely done). That's not normal AT ALL. What kind of SD Card are you using for the backup? The write speed sounds insanely slow:/ You won't get done at this point.
Yeah the whole process took a whooping 1111 minutes and 34 seconds to complete!! But it did eventually successfully write AND verify the backup (while I was asleep) ^^

And I'm using a brand new SanDisk Ultra 128GB A1, Class 10 U1 which I purchased off Amazon. Weird, isn't it :wtf:

You slept for 18 plus hours wtf ?
Does it really take that long 1111 minutes. Also I JUST purchased two of those Samsung cards.

I really need to chat up someone who’s got the external drive 4tb or larger rocking on the beta sx os mine goes into a scanning loop when I attempt the way I’m going about it anyway :/

I'm on the current setup:

SX OS 2.0.1
SysNAND FW 4.1.0
EmunNAND FW 6.0.1

It has been super stable and treated me well, which is why I'm slightly hesitant to update.

Anyone have any experience with SX OS 2.0.1 and FW 6.1? Considering updating EmuNAND to FW 6.1 with ChoiDuJourNX...

I have an 3.0.2 unused, going to: recovery, make nand backup, update with ChoiDujour to 6.1.0 - do i then make another nand backup?

is there any point? would it not be 'dirty' by using ChoiDujourNX so would it be better to use ChoiDujour before hacking from recovery instead?

Or should you only bother making a nand backup if/when a fuse/s is burnt?

Thanks!

Guys, in light of recent events I've been worried I made the NAND backup of my switch correctly.

I've seen people mentioning about some specific partitions I'd never heard before (prodinfo, BIS, ... ), that were messed up when running the malicious nsp. And that there are about over 11 partitions of the console NAND.

So, I made my backup following this guide's step 1

My backup consists of files named "BOOT0", "BOOT1" and "rawnand.bin". Am I good to go or is there smething else I should be looking into?

That is weird as hell. How big is that nand backup? And just incase, how many games do you have installed on your switch? Like, how much space is left?

I would honestly reformat the card to exfat and try the Nand backup again.(with the card being that big, I'm sure you must have manually formatted it to fat32, so shouldn't be a problem to format it back)

Uhm....I'm pretty sure he just meant the whole backup process took over 18 hours. He never said he slept during the entire time XD. And no, it does NOT take that long for a backup. Considering the S Card he used, I think something might have gone wrong. Even a fat32 formatted card shouldn't take THAT long.

I'd personally do a backup every time you plan to upgrade/downgrade your FW. So I would do another backup once you get to 6.1.0. Never hurts to take that extra precaution. And yes, if you upgrade using ChoiDujourNX, your Nand will be marked. Regular ChoiDujour would be better, though you might not still be 100% safe. If you don't want to update officially and you can manage the regular ChoiDujour version, go for that.

Don't worry, you are good to go. Rawnand.bin and the two boot files counts as a full backup. It wouldn't hurt to backup your BIS keys aswell though. This can be done with Hekate. Look under "Console info"

Yeah it is, right?? It's 29.1 GB, just as it should be (and of course another 8 MB for two boot-files).

Edit: Snap, I forgot to answer your other question regarding disk space and all that lol :P I've only got one actual Switch game installed and like 3-4 indie titles. So, 10.6 GB of available space on the console.

Yeah I did indeed format it to fat32, which btw took it's sweet time, since I read something about it being safer than exfat.

It IS possible to abort the whole backup process, right...? Because I ain't doing this whole thing again if it turns out that I can't exit the backup tool once the process has been started, should I end up with the same slow result XP

I have a Question related to AutoRCM & charging the battery:

I enabled AutoRCM on my Switch. I power off the switch by choosing 'Power off' in power options menu.
Is it safe to use this method to prevent the battery getting drained? I read about holding power button for 12+ seconds to fully powered off the switch.

And what is the best way to charge the switch when AutoRCM is enabled. When the switch is fully powered off and the main supply unit gets connected, it will enter RCM, but does it charge the battery as well? Or do I have to holding power button for 12+ after connecting the power supply?

How do you charge your switch with AutoRCM enabled?

For how to properly turn off a Switch with AutoRCM enabled, read up on that here.

For the best way to charge the Switch, I recommend charging in sleep mode. If you want to charge the Switch while its off, you will have to power it off properly while its connected to a power source. You cannot charge the console while its off using the dock as the dock will cause it to reboot into RCM much like shutting down the console in Horizon (e.g. CFW/OFW). By the way, the power off you performed actually did not turn off the console. Instead, it caused it to reboot into RCM which drains battery at a rate of about 5% per hour.

Bought a 4.1.0 switch from my friend, I am planning to install cfw on it. But before doing that, I want to remove his accounts, and I can't do that without updating the system, please help.

Okay, your backup files should be fine I think. They're the right size and Hekate did confirm the integrity of the backups, right?

As for your games and amount of space, I was just curious. I think they alter the time it takes to dump the nand a little bit, but not by a lot, and certainly not with just a couple games. I imagined your system was packed to the brim with tons of games, and even so, it still wouldn't justify the time it took to backup XD

You can abort the process, but I think you actually have to wait for the verification process in order to skip it. So, you'd still have to wait for the actual nand dumping. I totally get why you wouldn't wanna do that again. That's totally up to you. But something IS definitely off, just keep that In mind in the future. It might take just as long to restore your backed up nand, since it seems to me that backing up and restoring takes just about the same amount of time, as long as it is done with the same SD Card.

3 weeks ago I installed some nsps via usb tinfoil. Then, 2 weeks ago I installed one game using usb. Last week the games I installed 3 weeks ago stopped working. It says could not start software please try again from the HOME menu. Weirdly the game I installed 2 weeks ago still works and my games I got from the Eshop works. I tried installing them again but it still does not work. Can I get help because I really want to play the games.

Also I installed don’t starve and I can’t open because it says I need WiFi but I am on airplane mode and I am banned.

The nsp’s i used worked before

When you install .nsp using Tinfoil over USB, will it split files when installing to a FAT32 memory card, or does it only work because there are no games yet with files >4GB once installed?

God are these kind of headaches just standard with Switch CFW? Every time I read something like this it makes me want to just keep my system stock.
