Good day Tempers

Im having a hard time understanding what happened. After reading about the pickachu NSP brick. I decided to wait for a xci release. Played the game for an hour trough SX OS and then shutted down the switch.

Now i cant boot into OFW or CFW . Instant black screen. Am i in the same situation ? (read : bricked if i dont have a nand backup. which i dont xD)

Thanks!

If you played the Pikachu version, your Switch is bricked.

The XCI works the same as the NSP.

So even if the game was running ? I was missing that in the other threads.
Well, such for a nice piracy streak xD

Did you went in-game ? If yes, it might not be the same thing. Just try to load a payload. Maybe the switch just crashed and since you are on AutoRCM, you will see a black screen until you load a payload.

Yes I played for an hour or so.

Im using an SX dongle, so that already loads a payload right ?
I tried starting hekate from SX custom payload, which loads but wont let me start OFW. Same. Black screen.

Weird thing is, there is a reddit topic which lists my downloaded xci as verified safe....

dang. that's strange, if you played the game (and you did) your switch SHOULDN'T be bricked. The weird thing is that you can't boot it. did you run some HomeBrew? Did you update the firmware using choidujour?

Real copy XCI was like 4.51 GB and NSP was 4.16 GB , unless you got some bootleg copy of the game, as for the switch connect it to your PC, run Tegrasmash Gui, see if it is RCM mode, load a payload to kick it out of RCM mode. Even for me on internally installed Trinket m0 on AutoRCM it is always nice to have a NS Atmosphere injector around.

I have connected it to my PC, fired up TegraRCMGUI and loaded hekate. which ran succesfull on my switch
Within hekate i choosed boot OFW, but still the same.
I booted back into hekate. Disabled AutoRCM. And then the OFW came back.
It was booting with a square and a loading bar, i was too late for a picture.

I then reinstalled AutoRCM and now its working fine.. Weird..
Like it did some disk check at boot or something ?

Thank you guys!!!

Gonna make a Nand back-up now xD

Can you please be so considerate to show those people the door, at least to another subforum, and according to forum rules, to other forums - instead of pampering them on their way to happyness? (And them propagating odd solutions, that sound like they wouldnt work. For anything.)

Here is whats at work here - most people are so entrenched in the "piracy is normal" mindset, that their helper instinct triggers first thing out the door, without considering anything that goes on other that "this could be me, also".

This is basically gbatemps empty promise "we cont condone or support piracy in here" not working. But everyone still pretending, that it works.

Dont bring those people to us for support. Let SX OS deal with them, they took their money. Stop supporting them out of goodwill, for gods sake. If we do charity work for SX OS marks, they get to laugh three times, with none of their illgotten money spent.

I honestly don't believe anyone is pretending anymore. If they didn't support piracy this other "complain thread" would have never taken place on gbatemp.

Gbatemp actually does condone piracy & they have been called out for it. They pick who needs to follow the rules and who are above the rules. If you support gbatemp on patreon, you are above the rules. Moderators here are incompetent

people are free to express their own views on how much they love and advocate piracy, what isn't allowed on gbatemp is sharing any copywritten material or links that direct people to where they can pirate, most things beyond that is the users personal opinion and they are free to have an opinion

now im sure certain staff will have differing threasholds for what they deem instructions directing people to roms/warez, but the general rules are what they are, if a mod see's someone offering or requesting copywritten material we have to remove it, or if we see people dropping links to rom sites or making super obvious "clues" i.e something like "go to www.do*nload*oms.com" we have to remove it, any perceived bias is simply a difference of opinion on what you and a specific mod deems to be piracy or super obvious hints

do mods sometimes make a bad call...sure no doubt, we are only human, but I have yet to receive any instructions from higher ups to treat any members differently when it comes to enforcing rules violations, most of the "work" just involves cleaning up spam and dupe posts etc ^_^

but yeah this topic was in the wrong sub-forum, people are welcome to report a thread if its posted in the wrong sub-forum to bring it to a mods attention where it will be reviewed and moved if necessary

Hmm... do you happen to have a computer or android phone? And see if you can boot it with example TegraSwitchGUI.

Also be sure to hold down the powerbutton for 15-30 seconds (or if you can pop the back of it up and pull the battery and reinsert it) to make it 100% turned off, start charging the switch with power for like an hour, then try injecting it with a RCM payload. Of course holding down the Power and Vol + buttons.

So?
no nand backup

So?
tells people where to find piracy

So?
comes up with an odd reason of "what fixed it"

If there was corruption, this could very well fix it.
by it meaning booting into a "sx os modified" ofw from hekate
being paranoid, that now every xci or nsp is brickware
wanting piracy support on gba
which he is promptly given

Wouldn`t you be, if you were new?

In the FREAKING emulation and software project subforum.

Can you please be so considerate to show those people the door, at least to another subforum, and according to forum rules, to other forums - instead of pampering them on their way to happyness? (And them propagating odd solutions, that sound like they wouldnt work. For anything.)

Do me a lemon. Didn`t know you was a moderator or an admin.

When you have finished pontificating, maybe you could actually contribute and help the lad out...

But looks like he is sorted.

@Mikenuun Backup your NAND and keep it safe
