Harvest Moon inspired indie My Time At Portia gets new trailer

Initially a Kickstarter indie game, My Time At Portia raised $140,000 to bring its "3D sandbox RPG" project to life. Later on, Team17 stepped in to help publish the title, and also bring it to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. Inspired by the likes of Animal Crossing, Harvest Moon, Rune Factory, and other simulation games, My Time At Portia has you play as a farmer, working to build up your workshop, plant crops, explore dungeons, and make friends with other characters. This new trailer showcases the crafting aspect of the game, and the inventions you can build on your land. There's no release date yet, but an early access beta is available on Steam.

Arriving in the enchanting town of Portia, you’ll be able to start a new life and set to work restoring your Pa’s neglected workshop to its former glory. Armed with your Pa’s workshop handbook and workbench, you must gather, mine, and craft your way to being crowned the number one workshop in the whole of Portia!

As well as crafting and building there’s plenty more to do and discover in Portia including growing crops, raising animals, befriending the towns quirky inhabitants and uncovering the mysteries this charming post-apocalyptic land has forgotten.

Inspired by the likes of Animal Crossing, Harvest Moon, Dark Cloud 2, and the magic of Studio Ghibli, My Time at Portia whisks you away to a captivating world of wonder that you won’t forget. How will you spend your time at Portia?

I kick-started this. When I last played.. last year early access, it was still rough, but I could tell it had the potential to be fun. I'm still hoping

These are the same people behind Planet Explorers. Take a look at that game to get an idea of how this one works with its voxel-world.

Meh, I'll stick with Stardew Valley + SMAPI for my PC farming sim. Plus, I'd rather wait and see what kind of feedback the devs take from their early access customers and wait for a full release review before committing myself.
