You're not alone. No one has a clue why this happens, except that maybe it has something to do with Windows 7 and older.

Try changing the screen resolution on the monitor or update to Windows 8.1; avoid Windows 10 if you can because it's laden with ads...

Edit - I tried NSUI on my Windows 7 64-bit netbook without the screen cutoff bug.

Could it be that you guys are using 32-bit versions of Windows that's causing this?

Anyone else have an issue where the screen is cut off? I keep getting this:

unknown-png.149187

The NSUI Beta 27 is not working, when i open it, only half the page is loading, the other half seems to cut off! Like in the picture i uploaded.

downloaded Beta 27, with goal to make CIA of Donkey Kong. Didn't get far though, because the content seems to be cut off.

I'm actually running Win10 at a pretty high screen resolution; I've tried running as Admin/compatibility mode and haven't seen any changes.

Try what tyrantnyx suggested in post #176.
Delete the config.ini file found in the same directory as New Super Ultimate Injector for 3DS.exe. When you launch NSUI program, it should make a new one.

I was hoping that would work, but it didn't. For now I'm using the standalone injectors.
Keep in mind asdolo's previous injectors might not output certain games with working saves, especially the GBA VC ones. A good example of this would be games that require RTC (real time clock) like Pokemon - Liquid Crystal romhack.

For SNES / NES / GB(C) / GBA* / GEN / PCE||TG16 games, you should consider bubble's series, enddrift's mGBA, and RetroArch emulators.

GBA* emulation is hit or miss depending on titles and 3DS system in question.

Yeah, a member suffered of that like 2 months ago.
We (OK, at least me) never knew if this worked for him, but instead of reducing the resolution, avoid using any zoom in the screen (you know, when you magnify the objects via the resolution menu in Windows... I dunno what the heck is called that in english, possibly magnifier but that sounds dumb).

If they don't work, I can mess around. Right now my biggest "project" was getting Crystal Clear onto my 3DS, haha.

Oh that game... Pokemon - Crystal Clear (crystal-clear-2.0-beta.gbc, 2MB - 0DF95AAE) romhack uses RTC. I did a test run injection with Ultimate GBC VC injector for 3DS, and the game works with clock and saving. It's also playable on the latest nightly build of mGBA emulator with the advantage of *multiple save states and adjustable different resolutions.

If the time is wrong, you can reset and adjust it at the game's menu.

Yeah I found out that if you have your display resolution magnified in the Display control panel(mine was at 120%), then it'll have cutoff like that. When I switched it to 100%, then it was fine. Which also led me to just delete the software. I prefer to run at 120%(the level that the control panel says is recommended), and every time you switch that, you have to log out and back in to see the effect. So I'm not going to be switching my magnification back and forth, logging in and out, just to make a VC inject.

Hello everyone. I've been using this tool in a long time, but today it gives me this error whenever I try to load a project: "Unexpected end of file has occurred. The following elements are not closed: releases. Line 3, position 26" that's weird because the tool worked perfectly all this time. Itried beta27 and the problem is still present, so I don't kno what to do.

You solved the mystery!

Possibly a function is broken, or (no offense) you break it by changin' something or it broke by itself when changing something. If you did something, try to revert it... by, I dunno, deleting the "config.ini" file should do it. If not, then is already broken.
Any way, report it to Asdolo.

Thanks for the reply. It's weird and fun, the program is working normally, previously I had tried everything you said and nothing worked and suddenly it worked again as if nothing had happened. I just downloaded beta27 for the fourth time and it worked. Once again, thanks for the reply.

So I'm having issues converting my Pokemon Fire Red and Emerald files into cias. Every time I hit "export cia" a new window pops up that says "RESULT_ERROR_DURING_PROCESS". I've tried adding and not adding the sleep patch, deleting the config file, redownloading NSUI, re-extracting the ROM files from my cartridges, nothing works. Help?

Do any other *.gba rom games work with NSUI? If those do, then your cartridge rips are no good. Try acquiring clean rom dumps by other means... Look for these CRC32 hashes as per ADVANsCEne.

Pokemon - Fire Red Version
  • USA - DD88761C
  • EUR - 84EE4776
  • JPN - 3B2056E9
  • JPN (v1.1) - BB640DF7
Pokemon - Emerald Version
  • USA - 1F1C08FB
  • JPN - 4881F3F8

So it looks like my rips are faulty. I used the GBA backup tool (I think made by Rudolph) along with an R4 card and a DS lite. Would you happen to know any other way to rip the cartridge using that equipment? I would rather not use other means...

Edit - You may need to use the full dump option instead of trim.
That's only for 3DS so it won't work for what I'm trying to do. Thank you though. Also are you super sure that's the crc32 hash for Fire Red and Emerald? Because all the Emerald roms I'm finding, including the one from my cartridge, have
6FC57C2E as their hash.

Acquired from a certain zone site that no longer exists. They're out there if you search with Google and by similiar sites using Alexa. If your dumps are not producing these hashes, it's assumed the roms are bad in some ways. You can try playing them on desktop mGBA emulator first if they run at all.

If your morals are inflexible to find these games elsewhere, try the 3DS version of mGBA emulator should dumps still work (use the nightly builds found here).
