XCI-Cutter tool (Windows)

main.png

XCI-Cutter

Features:

- cuts off (trims) unused sectors
- optionally cuts in pieces (splits)
- batch processing

This tool reads the XCI-Header to determine the full cartridge-size and the actually used space.

By default, the tool checks if the sectors after the used space/gamedata are really unused (filled with FF).
It refuses to cut, if it finds any data in that area (this check can be bypassed by using "Fast Mode").

The tool can be used to restore these FF-sectors and expand XCI-files back to the full cartridge size.

@ChronoX_ compiled a list with actual datasizes over at:
https://wiki.gbatemp.net/wiki/XCI-Cutter

UPDATE 20.06.2018:
Trimmed and split games are now fully compatible with SX OS!

!!! Important Note: !!!
Dumps that were split with a version before v2.4.2,
have to be joined/uncut using that OLDER version.
And afterwards split again using the NEW version.

Just used this awesome tool for Crash Bandicoot .xci, however, in SX-OS the menu shows a blank "image". is it normal? Everything seems to work fine though.

I have a lot of .nsp files that need trimming to 4gb parts to go on a FAT32 card
Is there a way to convert them to xci so i can use this tool?
Is there a similar tool for .nsp files?
thnx

What IS a Card2 type game? What's the difference between a card1 and a card2 game?
Short (so short it might be technically incorrect) version: The partition showing the logo of the game was changed. The nswdb shows which games are card1 and card2 btw.

So I used the splitter to cut DBZ Fighters into 2 files, XC0 and XC1. How do I install these on Atmosphere? ZeroTwoCI doesn't see them :(

Atmosphere doesn't support XCI mounting, to my knowledge. Use SX OS.

Can this be made to work with SX-OS yet? I tried 2.4.2 and using 32k clusters on 2 different cards - same deal.

I'll try 2GB as suggested earlier and see if that helps, but I need a different tool to do that size right?

What‘s exactly your problem?
Doesn‘t the game show up in the list of Games/XCI‘s?

It does but won't launch. It keeps generating SD Card read errors - yet this is in 2 different cards. Both formatted FAT32 with 32k clusters using guiformat.

Interestingly even single <4GB xci files now get that error. Is it some issue with 32k clusters and 3.0.2?

Trying to get exFAT working now, but can't work out how to extract the update files asked for in this tutorial:
https://gbatemp.net/threads/choiduj...ller-homebrew-for-the-nintendo-switch.513416/

"Extract the UPDATE partition from an XCI image of the cartridge that contains the update you want into a folder"

Which tool can do that?
