Let me tell you guys the whole story.

Basically, OG made some brick code, threw it into an NSP and said "anyone wanna post this on DU?" I did. It was funny. But you know what isn't funny? Having your switch permanently bricked because you forgot to make a nand backup. Yes part of it was my fault, and part of it was OG's fault, but you have to remember, none of you made a NAND backup. I don't care at this point if my credibility or my reputation goes down the drain, I just needed you to know the truth. Of course some of it was mine and OG's fault. But some of it was yours too.
The plot thickens. My worthless opinion, it was fucked of OG to make the code, fucked of you to spread it, fucked of people not being cautious, just a fucked situation all around. This will teach a lot of people to be careful messing with this kind of stuff without proper protection.

(also kids wear a condom please)

Weird flex, but ok.

Honestly, you are totally right. However, everyone should make a backup. Why do people not do that?[/QUOTE]

I didn't get affected by your so called "Dick Prank". But I am gonna add my two-sense.
Not everyone has time for childish games where they have to reload their NAND and what about all their saved files, all erased, all gone. Does that make you happy, you gonna sleep good tonight?

At least you don't have a $300 paperweight.

Like I said, I'm not talking about me! It's all the other people that you "dicked" over! You're NOT here for the community you're here to be a complete ass and annoy people. All you can say is "Everyone Should Have a Backup" well guess what some people didn't.

Anyone doing anything to their switch should know the risks. Have your shit backed up people, it's just logic.

What do you do with all the pictures on your phone? You (should) have them on your PC, cloud, somewhere
BACKED UP in case something happens to your phone.

This could happen in many different situations. If you're going to try and get games days before their release date, at least check the NSP/XCI and wait for confirmation from other people.

So lets just say my switch is bricked, and I didnt make a full nand backup, but I backed up my biskeys using biskeydumper...

How would one go about recovering? ChoirDeJourNX, and then how would one recover the biskeys?

While this didn't happen to me I do feel sorry for the people men, women and especially kids this has happened to. You really are an immature lowlife grow up! and I hope you get banned from here this place does not need toxic pricks like you.

OP's avatar and backing up a bricked NAND fits perfectly.
Im guessing you havent googled me. Im not "backing" up shit. I simply know I cannot do anything more to change or fix the problem. Instead of feeding into trolls and getting triggered, I have accepted what has happened to my switch and moved on. Simple.

Reading through this thread has made me paranoid lol

Anyways, I have a old nand backup from like firmware version 5.1.0, its full nand backup, I only have rawnand.bin as my backup, so if I ever manage to brick my switch in the future, would this file be enough to restore? Or are there more files that I need to dump, I haven't needed to make a nand restore on my switch yet so I am kind of a noob at this.

NO, BACKUP YOUR NAND EVERY TIME YOU UPDATE YOUR FIRMWARE. YOUR NAND NEEDS TO MATCH YOUR CURRENT FIRMWARE. If you are on 5.1 currently you should be good as long as you dont update. The moment you do, create a new nand backup.

Damn thats harsh, I am gonna do that as soon as possible, are there any more files other than the rawnand that needs to be dumped for a restore?
